The event will involve a half-mile swim, an 18-mile bike ride and a four-mile run along the Pacific Ocean. Moreover, it will benefit the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles’s Pediatric Cancer Research Program.

Winsor Harmon Close Up

“I love this event because it raises money for the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles," Harmon wrote on his website "It's a great day and a great way to give back. I love doing charity work especially for kids; every child should always have a smile on their face.”

We wish him the best of luck with it.

An Interview with Winsor Harmon

Winsor Harmon ImageWinsor Harmon, as all fans of The Bold and the Beautiful know, portrays Thorne on that acclaimed series. He recently spoke to Soap Opera Digest about the role:

Soap Opera Weekly: So, should we be worried about poor Eric? Are the Forrester kids worried?
Winsor Harmon: Well, we've seen him once (laughs). We're doing a lot of offcamera visitation. We were laughing about it in a scene the other day. We were like, "My God. He's been in coma for two days, and we already want to pull the plug!" It was funny.

Weekly: Are you glad to see some conflict [on The Bold and the Beautiful] centering around the Forresters this summer?
Harmon: Summertime's always slow for us, and that's fine with me, because the kids are out of school and I'd rather spend time with my son. But, yeah, it’s fun.

Weekly: A lot of viewers are glad to see Thorne and Felicia doing stuff instead of standing around.
Harmon: I love those two characters together, for some reason. I love working with Lesli (Kay) and we really have great spontaneity. We play off each other, and most of the time we're not even following the script. There's a lot of ad-libbing, which is really fun. It's a shame we're brother and sister.

Winsor Harmon Discusses His Career

Winsor HarmonWinsor Harmon is featured in a recent article in The Mississippi Sun Herald. Here's the opening to it:

In the second grade, Winsor Harmon caught the acting bug.

"I did a play, called 'The Wells Fargo Wagon,' a musical, and I knew that's what I wanted to do, be an actor," said The Bold and the Beautiful star.

Harmon - together with three fellow cast members from The Bold And The Beautiful - will be on hand Saturday at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi to lend a bit of star power to "A Fashion Extravaganza," a charity fundraiser paying tribute to their deceased fellow cast member, Darlene Conley, who portrayed the colorful character Sally Spectra.

The party features live and silent auctions of Conley's show wardrobe, plus a host of other fashion and entertainment items. All proceeds, in turn, benefit the Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.

"It's very close to my heart, because I have kids. And I wanted to get involved immediately," said Harmon, whose three children range from 4 to 22 years in age.

Winsor Harmon Looks Ahead on The Bold and The Beautiful

First he lost the love of his life, Darla.

Then, just as he was starting to get over his loss and make a new life with Taylor, he discovers that she's the one responsible for accidentally killing Darla.

Winsor Harmon Picture It's been a little more than a year since Thorne Forrester became a widower. So, how is he holding up?

Winsor Harmon explains: "The loss of Darla was so great to him. On the one-year anniversary of her death, he told his mother (Stephanie, played by Susan Flannery) at The Bikini Bar, 'It's been a year; I should be over this'."

As Thorne was busy drowning his sorrows in alcohol and prescription meds, "all he wanted was for people to leave him alone. He was in his own little world. It's taking him away from the loss - he doesn't have to feel anymore."

When the actor heard that his character was going to be heading toward an emotional downward spiral, he says:

"I was thrilled to play it. As an actor, you get to go to places you wouldn't go to, or shouldn't go to. I was excited. I did my research and studied up on the subject. I just got in there and let it go. I'm really happy with the bar scenes we've filmed."

And what else but the love of a woman could pull him out of these depths of despair? Enter Donna Logan (played by Jennifer Gareis). She initially came up with a plan to get even with Stephanie for her interference in sister Brooke's (Katherine Kelly Lang) custody of her children by getting involved with Thorne.

Of cours, a relationship begun under a deceptive guise is never a good way to start. However, Donna has been good for Thorne, Harmon states.

"Donna swoops in and immediately helps Thorne to get a handle on his drinking."

Aside from her initial motives, "she absolutely has feelings for him. She always had been with bad guys, guys who cheat on her. Thorne is a nice, warm person, a family-oriented man. She's falling for that. She is a good person, despite what she did. I mean, everybody has a breaking point."

Even Thorne.
