Erin Sanders, who rose to fame on that series and came aboard The Young and the Restless in the role of of Eden, has been replaced.
No exact reason was given for the cast shake-up, but Sanders never seemed to catch on with fans. The character has been recast and assigned to Vanessa Marano (pictured). She's best known from her role as April Nardini on the former CW show, Gilmore Girls.

Erin Sanders guest stars on The Young and the Restless in the role of Eden.
The actress recently sat down with Soap Opera Digest and discussed the role:
Digest: How's it been going?
Sanders: Good. I'm having a lot of fun, but it's harder than I thought it would be. It moves so quickly.
Digest: Have any of your co-stars been helping you get adjusted?
Sanders: Tracey [E. Bregman, Lauren] and Christian [J. LeBlanc, Michael] have been. I've been interacting with them the most since our characters are in a storyline together.
Digest: Did you know anything about Eden when you auditioned for the role?
Sanders: No. The audition sides had nothing about my character. Even when I started work, I was in the background for the first few episodes, so I really knew nothing about who she was. I just knew she was related to River in some way.
Digest: Did you expect the role to be so dramatic? You've had to cry so much on-screen.
Sanders: I definitely wasn't expecting that. The audition sides were light and fun. I had no idea that this was all in store for me. I'm pleased, though, because I love this sort of thing.
Rick Dees is an internationally known DJ, entertainer and comedian.
He hosts the morning show at Movin' 93.9 in Los Angeles and will be guest-starring on The Young and the Restless later this fall.
The DJ spoke about the stint in a recent interview:
How did this role come about?
This is exciting. You know what happened was that we were talking on the radio on Movin' 93.9 and someone said 'If you were going to be a guest on a show, that runs now, which show would it be' and I said 'Not only does it run now but it has been on the air for more then 30 years and that would be The Young and the Restless.
They have done more than 9000 episodes and counting. So if I could pick a show that would be it. Everybody was on board so we said let's go through the process. We went to the casting director. We went to the promotions and publicity department and we went to The Young and the Restless.com and finally we got a hit.
It's a big week ahead on The Young and the Restless for Adam and Heather...
Exciting casting news on The Young and the Restless:
Tricia Cast (Nina) is returning to the show as part of a big November Sweeps story line - and she's bringing friends!
Also returning for dramatic events next month will be Beau Kayzer (Brock), Marla Adams (Dina), Michael Damian (Danny) and Beth Maitland (Traci).
