Next week, on The Young and the Restless...
Country music star Trace Adkins pops onto the scene of The Young and the Restless to sing as a surprise for Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Phyllis' (Michelle Stafford) first anniversary this Friday.
The crooner's character is written as ''a friend of the guy who owned the bar where they got married'' (that would be Rocky, played by Lucas Babin).
Adkins says ''Miss This,'' which made it all the way to number-one during its 20-weeks-and-counting stay on the Billboard Hot Country chart, ''lends itself to an acoustic performance," adding:
''I went and took a couple of guys with acoustic guitars and did an intimate little thing and it was fun. It was a good experience.''
Here's a look at what fans of The Young and the Restless can look forward to in May...
Attention, fans of The Young and the Restless. Here's a sneak peek at next week:
On her official website - login is required - Victoria Rowell writes about rumors that she'd return to The Young and the Restless:
"Thank you so much for your continued support as I criss-crossed the country. Your love of my work as the writer of The Women Who Raised Me; as an actress on Young and the Restless and Diagnosis Murder; as well as my film work, has been a blessing.
Youve shown me that my performances are more than Daytime drama to you. Over 4 million people have visited me here on my website and for you; I would like to answer the ubiquitous question of:
Are you coming back to the Young and the Restless?
Well, due to the barrage of Soap Opera tabloid and Internet speculation, I want to go on record to say that Drucilla would love nothing more than to claw her way up the cliff that she flipped off of, but Y&R has not sent her a rescue crew or a life line to help her out of the ravine that shes been in for over a year. I am alive and well and the ball is in their court.
Email to Sony Pictures Television and The Young the Restless is appreciated."
As previously reported, country music star Trace Adkins will appear on The Young and the Restless on Friday, May 2.
We can now report that Adkins will show up in Genoa City to help Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) surprise his wife, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), for their first anniversary. The singer, pictured here with the stars, will perform his number-one single "You're Gonna Miss This."

In honor of The Young and the Restless turning 35 this year, Tulsa World spoke to many of the show's stars. The publication asked them for a few views on the show, their roles on it and their characters.
Here are a few highlights:
Peter Bergman (pictured, Jack Abbott): Jack has gone from being egodriven to actually doing something good. He's taking it really seriously. At first we could question his motives, of course; but its something his father would have been proud of not only to see him as a senator, but also to see him do good stuff in office.
Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Newman): I dont think she's really strong. Shes seemingly strong, but strong women make stronger decisions; they dont get into compulsions. She has a lot of bravado, but shes pretty weak. Thats whats very interesting to play underneath shes damaged, but shes a fighter.
Vail Bloom (Heather Stevens): Michael Graziadei is fun to play with. He brings comfort and casualness he goes with the flow. It's a great working experience. In fact, it doesnt even feel like work!
Adrienne Frantz (Amber Moore): Jeanne Cooper and Jess Walton are so incredible. I learn so much from working with the daytime divas of the show. I just try to absorb from them. Im like a sponge. They both are always so in the moment, and they give you things back to work off.
Don Diamont (Brad Carlton): (On his early days on The Young and the Restless) I had just been fired from Days of Our Lives and voted Best Newcomer in the same week. At the time, I really embraced the hunk status that soaps were focusing on, and just thought that hopefully Ill prove myself as an actor and evolve beyond being the hunk by the pool. I was thrilled to get out of the tank tops and put on a suit."
Sam: Lucky, it's called cleavage, and it's the best weapon we've got.
