David Leisure, best known years ago for being a pitchman for Isuzu Automotive, has signed on to play Esther's new love interest on the show.
The character's name will be Roger, and the show bills him as a charming man with secret liaisons to shady characters.
Look for Leisure to debut on the show shortly.
The Young and the Restless airs five new episodes next week. Expect the following plot twists to take place...
The Young and the Restless will be preempted on Tuesday, January 20 for the Presidential Inauguration. As for developments the rest of the week...
What began as a 10-episode storyline as a bitchy stylist transformed into a solid contract character for Elizabeth Hendrickson on The Young and the Restless.
The actress talked about the show and the role of Chloe with Soap Opera Weekly recently:
Soap Opera Weekly: Have you had a hand in Chloe's development?
Elizabeth Hendrickson: The character was written as a stylist who was coming in. I was the one who wanted to make her edgy and funny. Most of the people I know who are in the fashion business are a little bitchy. I wanted to make Chloe interesting, instead of just playing her like some girl who was putting on fancy clothes. There was no conflict there. The writers definitely gave me that in the writing, and I tweaked it a little. They seemed to enjoy it. Each day, Chloe kept getting funnier and bitchier.
On this week's The Young and the Restless, battles take shape and trouble is brewing...
Eileen Davidson recently spoke to Michael Fairman about her move from The Bold and the Beautiful to The Young and the Restless. Here are highlights of what the actress had to say about the switch:
I got fired from The Young and the Restless and Brad Bell picked me up and employed me at The Bold and the Beautiful. I had the opportunity to work with people and do something different than I had been doing over at The Young and the Restless. I am actually grateful now.
I think Brad gave me the opportunity to breathe new life into Ashley. Things change. It did not work out the way I was hoping it would, but I don’t blame anybody for that, or have any ill will. The bottom line is it’s a really hard gig to figure out story, and story that works. I have learned the way Brad and other writer’s work: that is, that something will appear and you go with it.
How can I feel bad about being employed, and being treated exceptionally well? They wanted me back over here and it’s like I never missed a beat. So I think I would be incredibly ungrateful if I had anything but gratitude to Brad Bell and the show.
Shiva Rose will be appear as herself on an upcoming episode of The Young and the Restless.
The actress will be primarily be involved with Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) and Billy (Billy Miller). Look for her to guest star on Wednesday, January 21.

Vanessa Marano has been cast on The Young and the Restless in the role of Eden.
The young actress recently spoke to Soap Opera Digest about the role. Here are excerpts from the interview:
Soap Opera Digest: How are you enjoying The Young and the Restless?
Vanessa Marano: I love it! So far, everyone's been really, really great.
Digest: Was it tough coming in as a recast for Erin Sanders?
Marano: It was tough in the sense that no one ever likes to come into a recast role. It's difficult knowing that someone lost their job. That sucks. But it's a business and so far, everyone's been trying to make it work out. I know that for an audience member, it's probably hard to see someone new in the role, but viewers have been responding well, so that's good.
Digest: What grade are you in now?
Marano: I'm actually in college. I started a program at the community college where you could take classes that count as high school and college credit, but I finished high school, so now I'm getting my associates degree. Then I'll transfer to a USC school, where I'll come in as a junior. I don't know what I'll major in, though.
After a couple holiday breaks, The Young and the Restless finally returns for a full week's worth of new episodes. Here's what you can expect over the course of them...
