The Young and the Restless has tapped a major big screen baddie to join its cast.

The series will welcome Danny Trejo to the air on August 11. Movie fans might recognize him from thrillers such as The Devil's Rejects and From Dusk 'Til Dawn. Look for the actor to play a bartender who lends Victor his ear when the tycoon passes through Mexico.

When Noah returns to The Young and the Restless on August 13, Nick and Sharon's son will be played by Kevin Schmidt.

Schmidt replaces child actor Hunter Allan in the role. Here's an interview with the rising daytime star:

Veteran actor Michael Gross has been cast on The Young and the Restless.

Gross will portray Lowell Baldwin, an old flame of Gloria (Judith Chapman) and deadbeat dad of defense attorney extraordinaire Michael (Christian LeBlanc).

Fans of the 1980's sitcom Family Ties are familiar with Gross after his long-time stint as that sitcom's patriarch, Steven Keaton. Look for him to debut on the show on August 15.

What's in store for various character on The Young and the Restless? Here are a few clues...

• After nearly losing her life, Nikki learns the truth about David' deeds.
  

• Paul and Heather (Vail Bloom, pictured) put the final pieces together to reveal the truth about Ji Min's murder.

• Jill takes advantage of Nikki's absence to launch a coup at Jabot.

• Jack has an attack of his conscience when he's offered photos that could cause further harm to Sabrina.

Jamia Simone Nash started singing at age two.

Eventually, Nash's interest in entertainment expanded to acting, as she enjoyed guest spots on shows such as Half & Half, 7th Heaven, My Wife and Kids. She played a young Fantasia in Life Is Not a Fairytale: The Fantasia Barrino Story.

Here are excerpts from an interview with the young singer, as she talks about her latest gig as Devon's (Bryton) cousin Ana on The Young and the Restless...

First day on the set…
"I have worked on many shows so the experience wasn't new to me but it was a very new cast for me to work with. Mr. Bryton and Miss Eva [Marcille] greeted me and then I met the rest of the cast on the set and they were all very nice."

How did you feel when you heard you were going to be on the show?
"I was very excited."

Jamia Simone Nash portrays Ana on The Young and the Restless.

This was your first experience on a soap. What was it like?
"It is very different from working on primetime and movies because you have to wake up very, very early and be on the set. The pace is much quicker."

Did you know anything about Kristoff St. John or Bryton were before you appeared on the show?
"No, I have never watched the show before but now that I am on the show I am getting more familiar with them.

This is what it seems like, at least, when it comes to David on The Young and the Restless.

"If David killed once, he will kill again," Doug Davidson (pictured) said to Soap Opera Weekly.

Raya Meddine has been let go from The Young and the Restless.

No final airdate has been announced for the character of Sabrina, but a few clips/The Young and the Restless spoilers make it seem as though Sabrina is involved in a tragedy that will unfold around the time of the Charity Ball.

Raya Meddine, who has been let go, poses alongside co-star Eric Braeden.

Meddinea had signed a three-year contract in February, but Sabrina never really caught on as a character. Vewers commonly expressed their disappoinment in her in The Young and the Restless forums.
