According to the current issue of Soap Opera Digest, Nia Peeples will be returning to The Young and the Restless.

The magazine states that there is a "new storyline coming up that Karen will definitely be apart of." It also confirmed that the actress has now been placed on recurring contract status.

The last time we saw the character of Karen Taylor, she was headed for New York City. Would you wanna see her back in Genoa City?

This week, on The Young and the Restless...

Gloria gets so aggravated at seeing Jill and Jeffrey, she decides to play a little trick on them: shespikes their coffees with hot sauce. The problem with this supposedly harmless course of action?

Jeffrey is allergic to hot peppers and "he goes into anaphylactic shock," Judith Chapman said to Soap Opera Weekly.

Katy Perry appearing on the show isn't the only The Young and the Restless spoiler we have for fans today.

Cynthia Sikes has been cast as Sabrina's mother, Zara. The actress will start taping May 27.

The character is set to arrive in Genoa City on June 19, just in time for her daughter's wedding to Victor. The Young and the Restless had to do some quick recasting after Finola Hughes (Anna, General Hospital) was set to take on the role, but General Hospital asked her not to.

As far as Sikes is concerned, she's been acting for over three decades with shows such as Jag and St. Elsewhere on her resume.

Singer Katy Perry will appear as herself on The Young and the Restless on June 12.

Perry, whose single ''I Kissed a Girl'' resides in the top 10 on iTunes, will tape scenes in which she's at a photo shoot for the show's new fashion magazine, Restless Style. Look for her as second cover girl for the magazine, which launched an online component last week, restlessstyle.com.

Next week on The Young and the Restless, Nick gets into a car accident. As a result, his memory actually returns.

"Phyllis goes to the hospital and he says, 'I'm fine,' but he's being distant," Michelle Stafford (pictured), who plays Nick's current wife, said to The New York Daily News. "Phyllis is thinking, 'Oh, he hit his head again. He's forgotten me.'"

Ever since Nick lost his memory in a plane crash two years ago, that's not a bad assumption.

"He says, 'Go away. I'm fine.' So they all go away and he sees this little girl, who reminds him of Cassie - and his memory comes back."

From the flashing fashion pictures to the dormant button for a section that's still a work in progress, restlessstyle.com looks precisely like the site for an up-and-coming publication.

Of course, the website, which launched last week, is an extension of the a new fashion and lifestyle magazine on The Young and the Restless, Restless Style.

On the series, Phyllis, Nicholas, Jack and Sharon Abbott run the site; in real-life, it's another example of how daytime dramas are trying to hold onto viewers, while also hoping to attract in new ones.

''It was just a way to expand the fiction into reality,'' executive producer Josh Griffith told Entertainment Weekly. ''I think that wherever we can go to reach the largest number of people and get them excited about coming back to our show, you gotta do it.

There are so many options out there, so many places that people could go to find their entertainment. I think it's important to branch out and reach new viewers using the most cutting-edge technology.''

It appears as though Tammin Sursok (Colleen Carlton) is exiting The Young and the Restless for good.

Sursok joined the cast in July 2007, in the middle of a whirlwind of controversy surrounding Adrianne Leon's exit from the top-rated series.

Now, rumors are swirling that Leon may be returning to replace Sursok, though a show spokesperson told SoapCentral.com that Sursok is scheduled to return to The Young and the Restless later this year.

Colleen will be written off the show for approximately six weeks because Sursok is filming a movie called Albino Farm.

Meanwhile, in addition to the rumors of a possible return by Leon to the show, there are whispers that Sursok's on-screen love, Eyal Podell (Adrian Korbel) will soon be exiting the series. We'll keep you updated on all these stories as they develop.
