John McCook was recently interview by soap opera writer Michael Fairman.
Here's an excerpt from the conversation:
Did you love the concept surrounding Eric’s heart attack?
I thought it was great, because it was a heart attack, and nobody realized it wasn’t caused by anybody when it happened. Certainly, none of the actors knew it had been caused by anybody when it happened. I endured a lot of Viagra jokes because it had happened after sex with Donna. I got tired of that.
Then, a couple of weeks into his coma, it had been revealed that somebody had caused it and that it was a ‘Whodunit’. Then, that evolved into something else. As Eric recovered, the family worked to keep Donna apart from him. Then, they steal him back, and who does he see? Well, the good news is you’re waking out of your coma; the bad news is, your ex-wife Stephanie is there! Then, it was a really wonderful reunion with Eric and his family after that.
Then what happens is that Eric sees Donna and Owen in a compromising position, and it appears to be more than that. Eric freaks out and it almost makes him sick again. They now keep Donna away. But then, this wonderful thing happens of Donna wanting to explain her side of the story, and sneaking into the house to get to talk to Eric. It was pretty cool! It goes on from there.

Later today on The Bold and the Beautiful, Rick wakes up in the hospital... paralyzed!
"He went head over heels off the Sky Lounge balcony during a fight with Ridge and hit the pavement," Kyle Lowder said to The New York Daily News of scenes that aired Wednesday. "He wakes up out of it. He sees his mom, but he's slow to talk. The doctor comes in. He says, 'Let's check you out.'"
Sadly, Rick gives the doctor the go ahead to "start the test," unaware it's already been completed.
"They realize he has no feeling below his waist. Rick says, 'Oh my God. I can't move.'"
Enter Brooke. She comforts her son, as Ridge comes by to apologize.
"Ridge took away Rick's fiancée and his ability to walk," said Lowder. "He blames Ridge for making his mother miserable, for his own tough childhood and now for this paralysis. He has an overwhelming rage towards Ridge."
Coming up this week on The Bold and the Beautful...
Taylor informs Rick that their wedding is off. Uh-oh!
"Not only is he losing the woman that he loves, but also he's losing her to Ridge," Kyle Lowder, pictured, told Soap Opera Weekly, ominously adding: "Rick goes absolutely primal."
Can't wait to watch that!

As Pam on The Bold and the Beautiful, Alley Mills sometimes asked to act like a raging lunatic.
And, as the actress tells Soap Opera Weekly, she loves every second of it!
Soap Opera Weekly: Do you have a blast when Pam just goes completely off the rails?
Alley Mills: I totally do. It was such a surprise when Brad (Bell, head writer and executive producer) wrote the first [return for Pam], which was when they were looking for who shot Stephanie. I remember one of our set dressers said to me, "Are you off your medication?" and I gasped, because I hadn't read that [in the scripts] yet.
You don't read anything in advance, and I was like, "That's what's happening!" So I just went for it, and I thought that was such a great idea: to suddenly turn this pretty normal, pathetic person from the Midwest that she was before — Pam the baker — into Pam the psycho. It's really fun.
Weekly: What's your favorite thing about Pam?
Mills: The thing that I love that Brad has done is that he made Pam funny. She's smart and has wheels turning in her head, so that makes everything easier. Betty White's Ann is like that, too. She's not a dummy, and she's kind of funny. You can have latitude. You can be mean, but it's not awful, and it doesn't make people hate you completely. I can't tell you, though, how many people have come up to me and said that Pam's mean. It really hurts my feelings. I was in Palm Springs, and this lady goes, "I know you!" I went, "Oh, hi!" and she said, "You're Pam!"
That doesn't happen to me a lot, because people usually know me from THE WONDER YEARS. She said, "You're so mean to that girl." I said, "Wait a second, that girl stole my sister's husband right out from underneath her nose." She went, "You have a point!" and I went, "Yeah, I have a point!" Even though Donna is such a sweet girl, she's an airhead to Pam.
