Robin Riker stepped into the role of Beth Logan on June 18.
A week before that, the actress sat down with Soap Opera Weekly to discuss the show:
Soap Opera Weekly: How are you enjoying the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful?
Robin Riker: Everybody’s been so welcoming. My first day that I arrived, I wasn’t even working, I was just showing up to meet the-powers-that-be. John McCook (Eric), who wasn’t even working that day — I think he was dropping off some paperwork — came in to show me around and introduce me to people. He spent a good hour chatting and welcoming me.

Weekly: How did you end up getting the part of Beth?
Riker: It was very fun the way I got the part. I was living in New York and doing theater, and I got a call saying that Brad Bell (B&B’s executive producer and head writer) was interested in meeting with me for this role. Never having done much soap opera before, I wondered what it would be like, but I was unable to come back [to L.A.] right away.
This was on a Monday, and on Tuesday, my friend had taken me to a ball game. I took out my cell phone to take pictures of the diamond to send to my husband, and I saw that there were two urgent calls from my agent. I had to leave the stands to talk, and the only place that I could find any quiet was in the ladies’ room. They said that Brad wanted to talk to me, and I said, “Well, I’m in the ladies’ room at Yankee Stadium if he wants to give me a call.” (Laughs.)
Two minutes later, the phone rang and Brad said, “I understand we’re having a conversation in a funny place,” and I said, “Yes.” He said, “Do you want me to call you tomorrow?” and I said, “No, I rather dig it that we’re talking in the ladies’ room at Yankee Stadium!” So we had a 20-minute conversation. I made my very first deal for the one of the very first series I ever did on a pay phone in a coffee shop, so it seemed [to be] in the right realm for me.

As previously announced, Robin Riker has been cast as Beth Logan on The Bold and the Beautiful.
Fans of the series are aware that it’s been seven years since Beth was last spotted on the series, as viewers have wondered where Beth has been when her children needed her during this time.
Executive producer and head writer Bradley Bell recently answered that question, sort of, in a response to Soap Opera Central.
“Beth, who has been mysteriously absent during the harrowing series of tragic events that her children have recently endured, including Storm’s suicide and Katie’s heart transplant, is forced to face her children and reunite with her family,” Bell said.
Meet the new Beth Logan, soap opera fans. Robin Riker is coming to The Bold and the Beautiful.
As for Riker, leaving New York City and the theater scene for The Bold and the Beautiful wasn’t a difficult choice.
“I had a talk with Brad Bell and he made it sound like such a lovely invitation,” Riker smiles. “And I love to accept invitations.”
As the latest cast member on The Bold and the Beautiful, Texas Battle recently talked about what it’s been like to join such a long-running drama.
On winning the part on The Bold and the Beautiful: My agent told me there was a part [being cast] on The Bold and the Beautiful. We had no idea what it was, but I was excited because my Mom watches The Bold and the Beautiful and I knew that it was not only one of the top shows in America, but #1 worldwide. I met with the casting director. [She] had me read a scene from a previous episode.
Texas Battle now stars on The Bold and the Beautiful.
The character was a guy named Brandon. Then I came back and met with [headwriter and Executive Producer] Brad Bell and [Supervising Producer] Rhonda Friedman. That was when I found out that I was going to play a son looking for his mother. I was very excited that The Bold and the Beautiful was developing a storyline for an African-American character.
At the screen test I met Jennifer Gareis [Donna.] I was surprised because I had assumed that [Marcus’s] Mom would be African-American. I was like, you mean this beautiful blue eyed blonde is going to be my Mom?! I knew that this storyline was going to be a trip. Let the drama begin!

In Monaco last week, The Bold and the Beautiful was honored at the 48th Annual Monte Carlo Television Festival.
Seen here, Jennifer Gareis and Kyle Lowder accept the prestigious Golden Nymph Award on behalf of the show. The honor is given the International TV Audience Award for the highest ranked International Telenovela/Soap Opera.
