On April 26, Amelia Heinle and Thad Luckinbill will take part in the March For Babies.

The event supports the mission of the March of Dimes, which is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. These stars of The Young and the Restless are official Ambassadors for the campaign, formerly known as Walk America.

WHY:
Premature birth is the number one cause of newborn death in the United States
One in eight babies are born premature

Thad Luckinbill and Amelia Heinle welcomed a healthy baby boy on November 2. His name is Thaddeus Rowe Luckinbill into their family and he weighed 8 lbs at birth, measuring 21 inches.

Congrats to the new family!

• Though he was named after a Thaddeus, Luckinbill's name is just Thad.

• The actor is friends with Brian Presley (formerly of Port Charles), who he knows from the University of Oklahoma.

• He's distantly related to Lucie Arnaz's husband, actor Laurence Luckinbill. Laurence Luckinbill was once married to Robin Strasser (Dorian, One Life to Live), and has two sons with her, Benjamin and Nicholas.

Luckinbill once told Soap Opera Digest:

"Growing up, all the girls went for [bad boys]. It's not fair. I think it's the danger element. There's an excitement level about those guys, whereas us nice guys can be labeled boring. But I think in the end, we win out."
