The All My Children rumors are true:
Rebecca Budig will be leaving the series when her contract runs out in the spring of 2009. She told SOAPnet.com:
"My life is in California. I had hoped it would be a lot easier than it was to live bi-coastally. But it's really tough; our [she and husband Bob Guiney] life is enmeshed there. We put down roots there."
We'll miss Rebecca Budig when she exits All My Children next year.

When Rebecca Budig returns in the role of Greelee, her character and that of Alicia Minshew (Kendall) will have plenty of screen time together.
What might it lead to? Budig joked about that to The New York Daily News.
"Kendall and Greenlee are having a real big lovefest," said Budig, laughing. "I thought Alicia and I were close to making out the other day. One of these days, Ryan or Zach is going to have a fantasy and it's going to be us making out. That's where we're headed. I haven't made out with anybody yet, and I've been back three weeks. What the hell?!"
Budig won't be kissing anybody for a while, though, because Greenlee is about to fall gravely ill.
"Zach cut open this plant when they were in the bomb shelter and she drank from the root," said Budig. "She gets sick from that and has to go to the hospital. That brings Angie back to town."

January 15 marks the last appearance on All My Children for Sabina Singh.
While this may upset some of that actress' fans, others are just excited that Rebecca Budig is taking over the role of Greenlee again. She recently spoke with ABC about the decision to come back:
Is there anything you want to tell All My Children fans about your return to the show?
I want to say, "Please welcome me back." 'Cause I'm scared as hell that they won't! [Laughs] And I'm really excited to be back. I hope they ask all their friends to watch and get excited about the show again
. I think it's gonna turn a corner.
You can't doubt that the fans want you back.
I know that they've been loyal and really supportive and sweet. When I'm out and I meet people, they say really nice things to me. I'm just really thankful to the fans. Love the daytime fans.
What convinced you that now's the time to come back as Greenlee?
It just sort of worked out, the timing and everything. My life is in L.A. right now, and there's a lot of things that they did to make this easier for me. [ABC Daytime president] Brian Frons knows how to make things look really good!
What do you think of Sabine Singh's portrayal of Greenlee?
I think she brought in a different perspective on the character. Obviously, I played this character for six years and I have a different take on Greenlee. But I think she did a great job!
All My Children spoiler alert! It will turn out that Greenlee is not responsible for Spike's deafness. At some point, Kendall will tell Greenlee that it's an inherent medical condition.
Oh my God, I'm so relieved to hear that. Otherwise, how do you forgive her?

Oh, that's cool! I'm really excited to work with Alicia Minshew (Kendall), Aiden Turner (Aidan), Cameron Mathison (Ryan) and Thorsten Kaye (Zach). I've missed my friends. And I love Greenlee and Kendall together because Alicia and I have so much fun together. I'm really looking forward to that.
The All My Children rumors are fact: Rebecca Budig is coming back to the role of Greelee.
"We are giving the fans what theyve been asking for Rebecca returns as Greenlee and a beloved super-couple have a second chance," ABC Daytime boss Brian Scott Frons said of Budig, along with the returns of Debbi Morgan and Darnell Williams.
"Fans can look forward to Greenlees storyline developing around her business, her friendships and her love life. Angie and Jesse made an eternal imprint on... viewers, and many fans will not believe he's alive."
When Budig returns to the role she created, Greenlee is stricken down by a mysterious illness. That leads Angie back to Pine Valley Hospital to consult on Greenlee's case as well as that of a "secret patient." From there?
It all leads to what ABC calls "the most shocking reunion of all time: after 20 years, Angie will reunite with Jesse."

Soap Opera Weekly is reporting that two-time Daytime Emmy nominee Rebecca Budig is returning to the role of Greenlee on All My Children.
She'll be taking the place of Sabine Singh.
Budig originated the role in 1999. She left All My Children in 2005 in order to pursue other interests. Guiding Light fans are also familiar with the actress during her time as Michelle Bauer on Guiding Light.
Singh, meanwhile, joined All My Children earlier this year and never caught on with fans.
The return of Budig is consistent with the show's new approach of brining back fan favorites. As previously reported, Darnell Williams and Debbi Morgan are returning to the series, as well.
