In a follow-up to yesterday's rumor that a pair of popular stars have been let go from Days of Our Lives, we can now confirm:

Brandon Beemer (pictured) and Martha Madison have been fired from the show. Sources say their ousting was a decision made by executive producer Ken Corday; it was financially driven.

"Wow. I can't believe how fast word travels," Madison said in a statement on her official we site. "I have been bombarded with emails and [messages] asking if it's true [that] Brandon and I have been let go from the show. I'm sorry/sad to say that we have, in fact, been released from our contracts.

It was explained to us on Friday that this was a storyline dictated move by the writers, and that, at this time, we were free to move on to other work. We have both been incredibly grateful for the time that we've had here, and we will still be taping for the next few weeks."

Her Days of Our Lives co-star echoed the actress' sentiments:

"Sad to say that it's true," Beemer write on his website. "The show's decision was very unexpected, but it's always something that comes with the territory. I'll write more when I get more info."

She got married to restaurateur AJ Gilbert and has received critical acclaim for her performance as Belle in the wake of John's death.

2005: HELLO, MOTHER
"I didn't work with Deidre Hall for about a year when I first joined the show, because Marlena was presumed dead. When it came time to do my first scenes with her, not only did I have to play the shock of 'Oh, my God! My mom is alive,' but I also had to do an entire show with Deidre Hall. It was a lot [to deal with]. I was scared to death. Deidre was like, 'Oh, my gosh. You're ridiculous for being so scared. We'll get through this together.' And we did. I connected with Deidre right away, and it was just awesome."

2004: SAY CHEESE!
"When Eric Winter (ex-Rex), Farah Fath (ex-Mimi), Jason Cook (ex-Shawn), Kyle Brandt (ex-Philip) and Heather Lindell (ex-Jan) were on the show, the six of us got to do this really fun photo shoot at Universal Studios Hollywood. It was on the New York City lot. They were trying to create that Friends shoot, and it was a blast. So much fun. I mean, there we were, working on a different lot, outside. We were all in trailers, and there were tour buses going by. You felt like such a star."

2005: BABY BLUES
"Playing Belle's postpartum depression after Claire was born was fun for me, because it was different. Doing that story brought my acting to a new level, too. It was really challenging. It was the first time we had done a postpartum story [on Days of Our Lives]. That, in and of itself, was a fun challenge for me. As an actor, I learned a lot, having to play something I had absolutely no idea about or how to play. It's the only time I ever really researched a lot of stuff. I had a lot of homework."

We still don't have a wedding date yet for Martha Madison and her fiance, AJ.

But the Days of Our Lives actress did post the following on her official website, describing the proposal itself:

He took the traditional approach and kneeled down on one knee to pop the all important question....instead of crying right away, I was hit with a wave of hysterical laughter...(you had to have been there)...it was just too cute.

Tears came later when I realized that I will have the privilege of spending my life with this man. He truly is my perfect mate. We are both so happy!!!
