Guiding Light star Kim Zimmer recently chatted with writer Michael Fairman. Here are highlights from the interview:

Q: It looks like the upcoming wedding of Reva and Jeffrey may have many bumping moments on the couple’s way to the altar. Is that true?
Kim Zimmer: It’s a calamity and a comedy of errors. There is some heavy-duty drama mixed in there, too.

Q: When you were given the Guiding Light cancer storyline, did you do any research for it?
Kim Zimmer: My sister is a cancer survivor, and she was able to treat it with radiation. So, she did not have to have a mastectomy or anything. I talked with her, and I wanted it to be different because Reva is Reva. She is not a reader. She lives day to day. So, I wanted the story to catch her by surprise everyday, and to really leave it in the hands of the writers to tell what Reva was going to go through.

I did not want to do a lot research on it, because I did not want to complicate the story with other people’s story. This was Revas’s journey, told through the eyes of the writer, David Kreizman.

Q: What are Reva’s thoughts, as she fears her cancer has returned right before the wedding?
Kim Zimmer: For obvious reasons, she starts to think if this is something she wants to strap onto Jeffrey. Going through the marriage then comes in to question, even though she knows he wants to be there for her…that is after it is revealed to Jeffrey, as well.

In her typical forward fashion, Guiding Light heroine Reva proposes to Jeffrey next week.

"They have this great day moving into The Beacon, and Reva decides they need their own song," Kim Zimmer said to The New York Daily News. "They have these cute romantic scenes figuring out what their love song is."

For example, Jeffrey pulls out his guitar and they make up a song. One thing leads to another, and the duo makes love. Jeffrey wakes up to find Reva making something at the table.

"Jeffrey has never mentioned having a problem with the heart in the mantel at Cross Creek that says 'Reva and Josh Always,'" said Zimmer. "But Reva makes Jeffrey this glitter heart that says 'R.S. Loves J.O.' and on the side it says 'W.T.H.?'"

That stands for "What the hell?," which is the couple's mantra.

It's safe to say Kim Zimmer is a tad frustrated with the current state of her character on Guiding Light. Zimmer expressed as much in a message below fans on her official website.

My absence on the show has been greatly noticed! Not just by me and you, my fabulous die-hards, but also by my business manager who said to me the other day, as the market keeps falling:

"Is this one day a week stuff going to stop any time soon?" My response to him (as I talked myself down) was to say, "I have no idea what this regime is doing!"

All I know is that for the first time in my history on this show I am way under my guaranteed number of shows.

I don't understand why they would rather pay a character (actor) with such history and connection to what was Guiding Light to not work, than to work said actor their negotiated number of shows a week. But then I'm not the executive director nor am I the "suit" at P & G who has to put up the money (free money) to an under worked actor.
