Coming up on General Hospital this week...

• Alone with the mother of his only child, Jason (Steve Burton, pictured) outlines Sam’s sins, as well as his love for little Jake and his mother. He also makes sure Elizabeth understands that, while so many more people are aware of Jake’s paternity than either of them would like, including Sam, don't worry: Sam has no intention of blowing that secret out of the water and jeopardizing an innocent child.

• Lucky listens to Emily and Lulu as they talk about what to do about him and Elizabeth. Emily thinks he should cut his losses.

• Lucky (Greg Vaughan) is the one who rethinks bringing up divorce in the first place; so he and Elizabeth consider any possibility that their marriage can be salvaged. But there is none... therefore, the two of them go forward with dissolving their loveless sham of a union.

Don't worry, General Hospital fans.

While rumors have been floating around that Tyler Christopher (Nikolas, pictured) and Natalia Livingston (Emily) are on the way out, a rather well-placed source says this is far from the case.

"Both of these actors are locked down," the show's head writer, Robert Guza, Jr., said to Soap Opera Digest. "There's no covering up here. They're around and what happens to Nikolas in the coming weeks is going to be a catalyst for [November] sweeps."

After weeks of hearing the dreaded name Anthony Zacchara, the General Hospital maniacal mob boss finally has a face.

It belongs to veteran character actor Bruce Weitz. He's best known for his Emmy-winning role of Sgt. Mick Belker on Hill Street Blues, having appeared on Sisters, ER and Judging Amy.

Weitz's first air date is October 12. The role is recurring.

Several actors from General Hospital will be hosting a fan event at the Marriott Boston Tremont Hotel September 15 and 16. These stars include:

Saturday, September 15
- Jason Thompson (Patrick Drake) from 9 a.m.- Noon

- Greg Vaughan (Lucky Spencer, pictured) from 1 until 4 p.m.

- Bradford Anderson takes the night shift from 6 - 9 p.m.

Sunday, September 16
- Natalia Livingston (Emily) from 9 a.m. - Noon

- Sebastian Roche (Jerry Jacks) wraps up the weekend from 1- 4 p.m.

After a lengthy search, General Hospital star Annie Wersching has landed the major new female lead opposite Kiefer Sutherland on the next season of Fox's 24.

Wersching will play an FBI agent with an adversarial relationship with Jack Bauer (Sutherland).

Here are a few General Hospital spoilers for the upcoming week...

• Jason’s concerns grow into terror as he realizes that this Anthony Zacchara will not stop until every last one of Sonny’s loved ones are executed.

• Jerry warns Jax about the carnage sure to come, offering his services to protect him, Carly (Laura Wright) and the boys.

• Jax strongly conveys to Carly of this danger, and the necessity for her, Michael and Morgan to leave town. Meanwhile, Jason (Steve Burton) advises Carly and her sons to go back to living under the safety of Sonny’s complex.

Some readers of Soap Opera Digest were confused about a development on this week's General Hospital.

Regarding when Sonny (Maurice Benard, pictured) was laying out the saga of his stepfather Trevor Lansing to Kate, the question was posed: Where was Deke, who used to lock Sonny in a closet in that story?

Well, here's the timeline:

• Adela was married to Mike; they had Sonny.

• Mike abandoned Adela; she went to work as a secretary for Trevor.

• Trevor got Adela pregnant and sent her (with Sonny) to Martha's Vineyard to have the baby (who would be Ric).

• Adela fell down the stairs while still pregnant and had to be hospitalized. Trevor said he wanted to marry her, but asked her to give Sonny up for adoption.

• Adela refused. When Ric was born, Adela gave Ric up to Trevor.

• Adela and Sonny went back to Bensonhurst and had no further contact with Trevor or Ric.

• Heartbroken Adela then met and married Deke, who turned out to be an abusive husband and stepfather.

This Friday on General Hospital marks a first: Rick Springfield will sing on screen, a Noah Drake tries to pass himself off as rocker Eli Love.

The concert caps a storyline in which Noah and former spy Anna Devane have grown rather tight, yet fans hungry for anything more will have to bide their time.

"I really enjoyed working with Rick. He's a lot of fun, a nice, relaxed chilled guy," Finola Hughes, whose latest run as Anna wraps with the concert. "But we still have a lot of episodes of How Do I Look? [the Style Network show Hughes hosts] to do before the end of the year, and I'm still making jewelry for QVC, which takes up a great deal of my time."

Interestingly, it was Hughes' and Springfield's respectively busy calendars that threw them together for this short-term tale.

"I feel that’s why it works so well with Rick and I, because he's flying around in and out of town," the British beauty told TV Guide.

Could Anna resurface on a possible second round of SOAPnet's General Hospital: Night Shift, which this week wraps production on its 13-episode freshman foray?

"That would be nice, sure!" she said, noting that she previously was approached about swinging by the spin-off. "We'll have to see if that works into the schedule. But I think it's an amazing show. I've been watching it, and it's great."
