A General Hospital Blog: Robin Scorpio

Forget how Kimberly McCullough feels about the direction of her character on General Hospital.

What about the character herself, Robin Scorpio? Here's the latest blog by Robin, courtesy of the soap opera's official website:

I’ve finally found someone to father my baby, and he couldn’t be more enthusiastic. Damien Spinelli is the perfect genetic match. He’s youthful, kind, compassionate, loyal, and a technical genius. In fact, he possesses all the ideal qualities that I’d like my child to inherit.

As soon as I proposed the idea to Spinelli, he jumped at the opportunity to participate. I’ve always wanted my baby’s father to be someone I trust and admire, and Spinelli is that guy. Now that the search is over, I can relax and focus on the next step.

Think Robin is headed in the right direction, fans? Let us know at the General Hospital forum.

General Hospital Writer Speaks on Bruce Weitz

weitz_wm_9288292591_150×200.jpgNow that Bruce Weitz is firmly aboard General Hospital, head writer Robert Guza, Jr. couldn't help but share his excitement with Soap Opera Digest:

"This has worked out extremely well," Guza said. "I had originally envisioned somebody who was much more physically imposing but when they told me that Bruce was out there, I was like, 'Oh, my God. You think he'd like to do it?' We brought him in, had a long talk with him and he is just unbelievable because the character he is playing is a certified whack job.

He is criminally and pathologically insane.

And what Bruce gives you is not only glimmers of a mobster who is ruthless and fearless, but you also get a sense of vulnerability because we're going to talk about what made the man this way. He will do anything. And the moment he walks on camera, you're almost cowering because, really, anything can happen."

Stephen Macht Speaks on General Hospital Role

Stephen Macht Here are a few words from the portrayer of Trevor on General Hospital, Stephen Macht:

Soap Opera Digest: Trevor is such a heavy. What's your take on the character?
Stephen Macht: He's juicy [laughs]. Just juicy. He's so much more than just an attorney. He's a power manager. He doesn't take anything too seriously except power. And in his mind, he's got nothing to lose because he's got real connections all over the place, not only through the law [as an attorney], but through his clients, as well. So, he really wields tremendous influence.

Digest: How can he be so mean to Kate?
Macht: He loves this girl, he really does. He'd love to restart their love affair again, but because of her involvement with Sonny, his pride is at stake and this is a big-stakes game. Ego can be a terrible thing [laughs].

Digest: Why does Trevor hate Sonny so much?
Macht: It's all about the mother, Adela. His mother was Trevor's secretary at one time and she was the love of his life. She had this son by someone else. Ric was our love child, but she chose not to go with [Trevor]. When she passed, it destroyed Trevor's faith in love. As a result, he was not really a father to Ric.

Digest: Is it tough to be so horrible to Rick Hearst [Ric] on-screen?
Macht (laughs): It's funny because he is such a sweet, sweet man. He's a great actor to work with, as are Maurice Benard and Megan Ward. At first, I was pretty isolated by the story, but now I'm working with more people and it's really fun getting to know everybody.

Coming Soon to General Hospital: Rebecca Herbst's Son?

Here's a cute story?

General Hospital star Rebecca Herbst recently learned that her son Ethan knows a lot more about the soap opera business than she originally thought - and he even wants to be a part of it!

Rebecca Herbst

Ethan visited the set recently and grew jealous over the sight of his mother with her on-screen son, Cameron. The six-year old wanted to be on camera with his mom instead.

After Herbst explained that he couldn’t take over the role of Cameron due to the age difference - Rebecca's son on General Hospital is only three - Ethan asked:“When they age Cameron, do you think I can play your son?"

Smart kid.
