Hang on to your vodka, General Hospital viewers!

There's a another mob boss heading to Port Charles. This one is a Russian named Karpov and he'll be played by Ilia Volok (ER, Burn Notice). Look for Volok to debut on General Hospital July 18.

During a recent interview, Carolyn Hennesy was asked how the character of Diane went from short-term role to series regular.

Here's her reply:

I got a call from [General Hospital Casting Director] Mark Teschner and he said, ‘I’ve got two days of work for you. Do you want it?’ I said, ‘Absolutely.’ He said, ‘You’re playing Sonny’s lawyer.’ I said, ‘Great. Who’s that?’ I hadn’t watched General Hospital in years.

In a way it was a good thing because if I had known who Sonny Corinthos was and who Maurice Benard was I would have been very, very nervous because these are huge people in daytime. From day one I had the best time. I ended up practically chaining myself to the studio door and said, ‘You will find me something to do.’ I had no idea it would last so long.

The fans have just been so miraculously supportive. They have really taken Diane to heart. I think it’s because I say a lot of what they would say if they were sitting in a room with Sonny.

After months of speculation, Soap Opera Network has learned that Josh Duhon's last day as Logan Hayes will be Tuesday, July 8.

Duhon joined General Hospital in March 2007, portraying the eventual love interest of Lulu Spencer. It was soon revealed, of course, that Logan was the son of Scott Baldwin.

In November 2007, Logan's airtime and his place in Lulu's heart gradually decreased in favor of Johnny Zacchara (Brandon Barash), who became the new bad boy of Port Charles.

In a major twist of fate - General Hospital spoiler warning! - Logan will be killed off by Lulu when the two get into a fight over the truths of their lives.

Rosie Malek-Yonan returned yesterday to daytime television, joining General Hospital as the character of Farah Mir. It's a recurring role.

Most recently, Malek-Yonan worked opposite Reese Witherspoon in Rendition. The film also stared Jake Gyllenhaal, Meryl Streep, Peter Sarsgaard, and Alan Arkin.

Rosie Malek-Yonan is an Assyrian activist, actor and author. She's also a new cast member on General Hospital.
