Darin Brooks Speaks on Days of Our Lives Co-Star

Darling DarinDarin Brooks was recently interviewed by Soap Opera Weekly. The magazine asked the Days of Our Lives star about a certain new co-star...

Soap Opera Weekly: What was your reaction when you learned veteran daytime star Roscoe Born (Trent) had been cast as your dad?
Darin Brooks: I actually didn't know until a couple of days before he started. The [Days of Our Lives] producers were kind of keeping it under wraps. Ed Scott (co-executive producer), Noel Maxam (supervising producer) and Kathy Foster (director) kept coming up to me, going:

"So, are you excited? You know who your father is going to be, right?" I'd say, "No, nobody told me yet." They'd say, "Oh, okay. Never mind. Just know that we're excited, and it will be good. He's a really good actor."

Weekly: Have you learned anything from working with Roscoe?
Brooks: He's a man of surprises. He likes to do things to surprise you, catch you off guard, and maybe get you into a special moment or place during a scene. One thing I've learned now is to surprise him back. I throw it back at him sometimes and see what we can do. So far, it's been great.

Days of Our Lives Writer Speaks on Autism Story Line

Days of Our Lives writer Dena Higley was recently asked about the future of her show's autism story line.

Will viewers see Renee and Jim conflict over ways in which to treat their son’s condition as the series progresses?
Dena Higley: Absolutely. And I got a call from one of my script writers because I had written a couple of themes out and they called me and said did you and (Mark) have this fight - because they knew me and they knew my husband.

And they knew - and I said yeah, it’s almost - and it’s probably been 15 years since we had that fight and I was surprised how I could access it so quickly. I obviously had no closure there.

But yeah, I mean, word for word some of the disagreements that my husband and I have had in the past , I just put those words in Abe’s mouth [on Days of Our Lives] and I was - like I said in one of my other things that I wrote, I said there’s a lot of me in Lexie at this point and there’s a lot of (Mark) in Abe.

Arianne Zuker Speaks on Days of Our Lives Character

During a recent interview, Arianne Zuker discussed the numerous changes her Days of Our Lives character have undergone over the last few weeks:

They hinted at it before, a little bit, but really never touched upon it. It's a challenge for me, because I'm going from being flip then, in certain moments, my vulnerability comes out. It's really hard to try to hide it. I think that Nicole wants so badly to trust somebody.

Zuker, Arianne

Arianne Zuker stars on Days of Our Lives.

She's never really, truly dealt with anything. I don't know if you're anyone who's ever had an issue in your life, but those of us who have, if you don't deal with it, at some point it's going to explode. I think she's getting to that boiling point. She's about to burst. As we all know she's got a little bit of a bad history. I think that's kind of why she's so flippant and why she can go from one place to the other She's just so busy covering now.

It's just so great; I just find so many wonderful things. And in working with Ed Scott and Noel Maxam, they're so willing to listen to my ideas and really work with me and really just make, not only the show, but my character just amazing.

Nadia Bjorlin: The Favorite Days of Her Lives

Remember when Chloe received those "Ghoul Girl" taunts in high school?

Since then, of course, portrayer Nadia Bjorlin has emerged as a gorgeous swan. Through it all, the actress has collected a handful of special memories. She shared a few of them with Soap Opera Weekly.

Here's a recount of one of her favorite days on, well, Days of Our Lives:

"The crazy episode where Belle had a weird dream about her, Shawn, Philip and Chloe on the beach was funny. It was this weird alternate-universe reality thing. That was a location shoot. We went to Malibu; it was shot on Zuma Beach. I was bald.

Nadia Bjorlin has come a long way on Days of Our Lives.

Farah Fath (Mimi) was a mermaid. We were all seriously overacting and laughing our heads off. I remember it was freezing outside, like 50 degrees, and we were miserable. I had to wear a gold lamé bikini. (Costume designer) Richard Bloore actually made that bikini for me.

The whole thing was really funny, a big spoof, a major parody."
