As previously reported, veteran soap star Roscoe Born - with a name like that, how can you not be a veteran soap star? - arrives on Days of Our Lives this week. And we've now learned more about the role he'll play.

Look for Born to portray the dean of the physics department at Salem University, where he'll interact with Max, Stephanie and Nick.

In an interview with SOAPnet, Born said that Nick becomes the dean’s protégé after developing an alternative fuel cell. But what about your actual character, Roscoe?

“This guy's going to have a lot of different sides to him, and some aren't going to be pleasant, but he won't be a stock villain.”

Reportedly, Stewart will mix it up with Chelsea (Rachel Melvin) and Morgan (Kristen Renton) as their Alpha Chi Theta sorority advisor at the Salem Health Club. Sounds intriguing.

Actor Joe Penny arrived on the Days of Our Lives scene a few weeks ago, portraying the character of Martino Vitali.

Now, we've received word that Penny's run on the show is about to end. And here's how:

Believing Martino was behind Ava’s drug induced actions - and therefore responsible for his father's death, - Bo quickly tracked the mobster down, clocked him one and threatened to kill him. Well...

Evidently, Brady makes good on his threat: he kills Martino on the May 15 episode.

Ricky Dean Logan will square off against Joe Penny on the May 2 episode of Days of Our Lives.

In the episode, Logan appears as Earl Larson, a police informant who helps find Bo and Hope. He was was seen on the April 15 and April 25 episodes of the series.

Ross Matthews (better known as “Ross the Intern” on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno) will appear on the May 14 episode of Days of Our Lives.

This funny man will guest star as a patron at the Salem Health Club. He'll portray Chris, a man that befriends Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney), as she attempts to ignore the fact that she's jealous of husband EJ DiMera’s (James Scott) flirtations with Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker).
