Cameron Mathison is this year's recipient of The Linda Dano Heart Award is Cameron Mathison.
What does that mean? Dano is a board member of HeartShare Human Services and presents the award annually to an individual or group in the entertainment industry who exemplifies a commitment to improving the lives of children.
The All My Children star will receive the honor at the 2008 HeartShare Gala and Auction, which takes place Tuesday, April 8 at The New York Marriott Marquis. Here are details on the event:
HeartShare, founded in 1914, is a comprehensive New York based Human Services Agency whose programs assist over 17,000 children, families, and adults.
HeartShare raises funds and administers foster care and adoption programs, community-based family service centers, youth services, school-based beacon programs, and services for children and adults affected by HIV / AIDS and those with developmental disabilities.
HeartShare has a continuum of services that include early childhood centers, group homes, supportive apartments, adult day treatment, habilitation services, case management and family supportive services. Approximately 90% of all of HeartShares revenues go directly to program services.

The lovely clothing designer recently talked to Celebrity Baby Blog about what it's been like to be married to such a busy man:
[Cameron] finished "Dancing With the Stars" and he also hosted "So You Wanna Be a Soap Star," and those require him to go out to Los Angeles. And that really does require a bit of maneuvering of the family. What we've been doing is, we've been pulling Lucas from school for when [Cameron] hosts "So You Wanna be a Soap Star."
And for "Dancing With the Stars," that was brutal! Because it was so long, it was three months, we kept the family here and I went to Los Angeles every week for the Monday night show. So I would fly out on Sunday night, go to the show on Monday and then be on the red eye Monday night to get back to the city.
And I did that pretty much every single week.
Cameron Mathison has been tapped as host the fourth annual "ABC Daytime Salutes Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS" benefit. It airs Sunday, March 2 at Town Hall in New York City.

Ready to bid on Cameron Mathison?
The All My Children hunk is putting himself up for auction in order to raise money for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, an industry-based HIV/AIDS fundraising organization.
The 38-year-old actor will host a March 2 show at The Town Hall on West 43rd Street to benefit the charity.
What can you win at the auction?
Private dance lessons and the opportunity to perform on the benefit show, which will feature ABC Daytime soap stars and co-hosts of The View.

From Dancing with the Stars to Toys for Tots, the All My Children times rarely has any free time. But he did find a moment to speak with OK! Magazine. Here are highlights from the interview:
How did you get involved with Toys for Tots?
I think because I'm a dad and people know I'm always really eager to do things with kids. And Toys for Tots is such a great organization, I jumped at the opportunity.
After five years of marriage, how do you keep the spark alive?
Its really hard. My wife is better at it than I am. I work a lot of hours and in this business you really try to keep as busy as you possibly can. Sometimes when you really focus on kids in your free time you lose the husband and wife relationship to some degree. It's been a real focus for us to make sure we stay focused on us two.
Now that Dancing With the Stars is over, are you still dancing?
I dance with my kids. Since I did the show, my son, Lucas, and my daughter, Leila, all they want to do is dance with me. They dance to cell phone rings. Every time they hear some sort of music, especially my daughter who's a year and a half, just gets down with me. My son actually wants to take dancing lessons with me, which I think is sweet.
Any holiday traditions you want to keep alive with your kids?
Christmas was always a big holiday in our family. Every Christmas Eve before we'd go to bed my mom and dad would read to us two or three stories and they would always be The Happy Prince, The Gift of the Magi and 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, and I would like to keep that alive.
All has been quiet on the Cameron Mathison front since the All My Children star was voted off Dancing with the Stars.
