Jon Prescott: Off As the World Turns

As runors continue to swirl about a cast shake-up on As the World Turns, one actor has confirmed his exit: Jon Prescott wrote on his website this week that he's leaving the series.

The message on the site cites budget constraints as the reason for going elsewhere.

"I'd like to express my gratitude to the entire cast, crew and production team [on As the World Turns] who have made this an irreplaceable experience. Most importantly, thank you to the fans who have been energetic supporters of both Mike Kasnoff and the show as a whole," the actor wrote.

As the World Turns Casting Note: Who is Michael E. Rodgers?

Michael E. Rodgers is currently portraying playing Mike's boss, Neal, on As the World Turns. While he's only scheduled to remain on the show for a short period of time, here's a bit of background on the actor:

Rodgers is from Whitburn, a town in the West Lothian region of Scotland. He was a straight-A student at St Kentigern’s Academy in Blackburn. At the age of 16, Rodgers quit school and left home for Edinburgh at the age of 16.

After years learning his craft in less high-profile roles, his portrayal of a murdering heroin addict on NYPD Blue brought Michael to the attention of casting directors.
