Michael Park Dishes on Character's Leading Ladies

Park, Michael

Michael Park knows a thing or two dozen about women.

Or, to be exact, his character on As the World Turns knows a thing or two dozen about women.

In the following interview, courtesy of Soap Opera Weekly, the actor dishes on his character's leading ladies:

Obviously, there's always a lot going on with Jack and Carly, but what about Janet? Where does she fit in?
Julie Pinson is playing that character very well. Again, she's a smart actress who is protecting her character. Janet's protecting herself from anything that comes across as weak. They've created a smart character. But they tend to do that whenever they put Jack and Carly with other people.

Those characters are very bright, and they have to be —they have to know what's going on going into [the Jack and Carly dynamic]. The fact that they found Julie was a great move on the part of As the World Turns.

It's great, because on the one hand, people want Carly and Jack back together, and on the other hand, one has to hope that Janet doesn't get her heart broken.
I really like it when Jack and Carly get to share with the audience what really good friends they are. It's kind of hard not to put in a little bit of Michael in those scenes, where Jack is adoring Carly and he's just being nice and a friend, because that's the way I feel about Maura. She's one of my best friends, and I love to play those scenes in particular, because they are really honest.

As the World Turns Writer Dishes on Nuke

Jean Passanante is a writer on As the World Turns.

She recently spoke to AfterElton about various characters on the show, most notably Luke and Noah.

On Luke and Noah (aka Nuke): "It hasn’t been polarizing. Of course you don’t really know whether someone is gay or straight when they tell you they love the story, but I can only assume the positive response has far outweighed any negative feedback we’ve gotten. I mean, the audience loves this couple!"

So, as many fans have asked: Why haven't Luke and Noah consummated their relationship? Heck, even Luke’s significantly younger cousins Parker and Liberty have gotten it on!

“Yeah but then everybody yelled at us for that!” Passanante said, before turning serious. “We’ll take the time we think we need to tell the story. Part of what you’re experiencing as a delay is the fact that [Luke and Noah] just haven’t been on the air very much.”

Kelley Menighan Hensley Speaks on Dusty's Return

Kelley Menighan Hensley stars on As the World Turns as the character of Emily.

She's excited about the new story line involving her and the return of Dusty. The actress recently spoke to Soap Opera Weekly about it:

Soap Opera Weekly: So what's it like working with Grayson McCouch (Dusty) again? Was it just like riding a bike?
Kelley Menighan Hensley: Oh, yeah. I mean, honestly, I think it was the week he left that I was starting to say, "How do we get him back?" He's a special guy; he brings a special thing to the plate. We just love working together. We have a great rapport. We have a great deal of admiration for each other, and it goes a long way.

Weekly: There's so much drama tied up in Dusty's return. So many characters are affected. Lily, Holden, Emily...
Hensley: There's a lot of resentment. I mean, it's, "Do I choke you or do I kiss you?" Emily's like, "How could you have done what you did?" But then when you hear what it was [that motivated Dusty], clearly you forgive the guy. It's sort of unforgivable [to fake your death], but this is what we do in daytime!

Jon Lindstrom Cast on As the World Turns

Jon Lindstrom is coming aboard As the World Turns.

The former General Hospital star will appear on the show as Craig Montgomery, the man that fled Oakdale last February after attempting murder. Look for the actor to debut on December 3.

"Jon is a witty and immensely likable actor even when he's doing unspeakable things – as he did [playing twins Kevin and Ryan] on General Hospital," As the World Turns head writer Jean Passanante told TV Guide. "And that pretty much sums up Craig."

Craig will come back to Oakdale "with a deep desire to reconnect with his family, though his first order of business is to get himself off the hook for trying to kill Paul [Roger Howarth]. It's a big problem, but Craig is up for the challenge," Passanante added.

The original Craig Montgomery, Scott Bryce, was fired from As the World Turns earlier this year.
