Lauretta Vaughn: Back on As the World Turns!

Lauretta VaughnLauretta Vaughn may have not taken home the grand prize like Ryan Serhant during this past season of InTurn - but she impressed As the World turns Executive Producer Chris Goutman so much that he offered her a two-week gig on the show this past summer.

Now, her character Kit has returned to Oakdale. CBS.com caught up with Lauretta to discuss the news:

CBS.com: We've missed you. How have you been?
Lauretta Vaughn: Fantastic. I am so excited to be back on As the World Turns. I've been taping a lot of episodes and a few months ago I got married.

CBS.com: How is newlywed life?
Lauretta Vaughn: It's still very strange. It's good. He has always been in my life, so it feels great having him around.

CBS.com: Tell me about Kit's return.
Lauretta Vaughn: You know I campaigned; I really wanted to come back. I have some amazing fans and people on the message boards were writing in and were so supportive of me. It was like having an out of body experience seeing this third party look out for you. In the summer - when I had my two-week stint - I went to [Executive Producer] Chris Goutman and basically begged to be brought back.

It felt so natural to be there and everyone was so lovely. It was strange because I kept bumping into Chris. I saw him in Central Park; I ran into him on the subway. I kept telling him: this is a sign, you need to write me in! I had also given him ideas that I had about how to bring back the character.

CBS.com: Did he like any of them?
Lauretta Vaughn: I'm not sure. One idea we had was to have me return as Kit's identical sister, Kat. Get it, Kit Kat? I thought that was too funny. Honestly, I told Chris I didn't care what he has me doing, I just want to be back! In the end, the producers and writers decided to just have me come back with a suspended sentence.

This time around, I'm in Oakdale to make amends with the Snyder family, and my reasoning for behaving badly in the past was my newfound alcoholism. Apparently, I battled the bottle.

Austin Peck Speaks on As the World Turns Development

On today's episode of As the World Turns, Brad's life undergoes a significant change.

Kate and Brad hit the sheets, but for very different reasons, of course: she wants a baby; he's in love with her.

"She wants to try it the old fashioned way," says Austin Peck, who plays Brad. "First, she wanted to do it artificially. He had to go to the hospital by himself and go in a room. He couldn't do it. He told them, 'Sorry!' and was disappointed in himself.

Then Katie called. She's changed her mind."

Chaunteé Schuler Dishes on As the World Turns Spoilers, Angles

Chaunteé SchulerChaunteé Schuler is new to the world of soap operas - and TV, in general.

Her role as Bonnie McKechnie marks the actress' first foray into scripted television. Schuler says that Bonnie's return signifies a new beginning for the character on As the World Turns, as she's now equipped with more wisdom and maturity.

“They will learn a little bit [about what Bonnie's been doing since she left Oakdale] but Bonnie returning is her way of starting a new chapter in her life," Schuler recently teased. "There have been a lot of things that have happened that have been tough for her.  She returns to have a fresh start."

As loyal As the World Turns fans know, Bonnie left Oakdale to live in Florida following Isaac's proposal. While she was away, she earned a law degree, married and then divorced Isaac.  Four years later, she's returned to enter into practice with her mother.

Without giving away too many show spoilers, Schuler reveals the attempt to start a new chapter in Bonnie's life coincides with a love interest in the near future.  So far, Bonnie and Holden have hit it off well, but Schuler remains uncertain of what's in store for her character's love life.

“We're not sure. Bonnie comes back to town kind of lonely. She has her cousin Dallas [Wole Parks] who acts as a confidant, but Bonnie is really trying to concentration on work and getting herself back on her feet… Viewers will just have to wait and see,” she said.

Agim Kaba Talks About As the World Turns Return

It's been a few months since Agim Kaba rejoined As the World Turns. And a few months since he gave the interview below to CBS.

Nevertheless, we thought fans would be curious to hear this hunk's thoughts on his return:

CBS.com: How has it been to return to As the World Turns?
Agim Kaba: It's been wonderful.

CBS.com: How did your return to As the World Turns happen?
Agim Kaba: Timing. I was moving back to New York, [the show] was looking to recast Aaron. So, what the hell, why not? Both parties agreed and I think both parties are happy.

CBS.com: How is it to play Aaron this time with a new Alison (Marnie Schulenburg)?
Agim Kaba: At first it was a little strange, but the whole thing was tough coming back to the show the amount of work getting back into the swing of things. I really wanted to improve Aaron.

CBS.com: What do you like to do in your free time?
Agim Kaba: I paint a lot. That's pretty much it. I work out. My whole apartment is basically a big studio for me to paint. It's my artistic work space. I read, listen to music. Obviously being on a soap you spend the majority of the day if you're not at work at home preparing for the next day. I rarely find myself with nothing to do. I try to remain very focused.

Billy Magnussen: Coming to As the World Turns

Billy Magnussen is currently appearing on Broadway in "The Ritz."

But that play runs through December 9... and then As the World Turns fans can look forward to seeing him on their favorite show.

Billy Magnussen

The actor will be taking on the role of Casey Hughes, so here's a primer about that character for those that have forgotten:

He's been missing from the series since being sent to prison earlier this year for jumping bail. Fans should remember that the character broke things off with Maddie (who is now in college) over the phone, stating that they were different people in different places.

Dylan Bruce Dishes on As the World Turns

Dylan BruceDylan Bruce, new to As the World Turns, recently sat down with CBS.com. Here are excerpts from that discussion:

CBS.com: What other soaps did you test for?
Dylan Bruce: I screen-tested for One Life to Live, Days of Our Lives and As the World Turns twice. Then, I screen-tested twice for the "My Network TV" telenovela, the late night soaps. I actually booked one but they cancelled it a week before it started shooting.

CBS.com: What is your background?
Bruce: I am from Vancouver, British Colombia originally. IÂ’m a Canadian citizen. Then I moved to Seattle with my mother. I went to the University of Washington. I was studying Economics. I was into Drama in high school but I didnÂ’t think it was practical at the time so I started going into Business.

Then I took one Drama class [at the University of Washington] and I fell in love with it. I ended up double majoring in Drama and Economics. I graduated, and then I moved to San Diego and did some Theater down there. Then I moved to Los Angeles because I wanted to make some money. [Laughs] And the rest is happening right now.

CBS.com: Do you still live in L.A. or did you relocate to N.Y. for As the World Turns?
Bruce: I had a place [in L.A.] but I am putting all my eggs in one basket [in New York]. I donÂ’t want to think about moving back to L.A.--I want to stay out here and be successful.

CBS.com: Who have you been working with?
Bruce: IÂ’ve worked a lot with Kathryn Hays who plays Kim and Don Hastings who plays Bob. The majority of my scenes involve Kelley Hensley [Emily] and Grayson McCouch [Dusty]. TheyÂ’ve all been very welcoming, unbelievably supportive. I feel so blessed to be working at this place with these people. ItÂ’s really a dream come true.
