It's a family and friends affair next week on As the World Turns.

Like the rest of the country, the show will celebrate Thanksgiving with a meal that's sure to be stranger than that of your family. Here's a sneak peek at it:

Emily and Paul scheme next week on As the World Turns, among other developments...

• Lucinda and Brian make a surprising announcement.

Next week on As the World Turns, Lucinda ties the knot with the much-younger Brian. The wedding actually takes place at her hospital bedside.

"Brian's relationship with Lucinda is genuine," Laurence Lau, who plays Brian, told The New York Daily News. "They challenge each other and make each other laugh."

Of course, the pair has also just met, but because Lucinda has cancer, she doesn't have time to do her usual due diligence.

"Lucinda [Elizabeth Hubbard, pictured] is recovering from a mastectomy," Lau said. "She wakes up with Brian by her side and says, 'I don't want to live alone any longer. Marry me.' Brian says, 'Ask me again when the drugs wear off.'"

Attention, fans of As the World Turns:

Davida Williams has been cast in the role of Jade. The actress is best known for her work on the series Lizzie McGuire. She played the part of Claire on that show.

For new As the World Turns followers: Jade has not been seen on the soap opera since 2007. The character had been Luke's confidante and received praise for saving Gwen from Cleo.

She was last portrayed by Elena Goode.
