Girls must find soap operas to be fun.

After all, Grammy Award-winner Cyndi Lauper, most famous for her hit "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, will appear as herself on As the World Turns on July 3. She'll be singing "Into The Nightlife" off her new album (released yesterday, the day she taped her As the World Turns appearance) and her classic hit "True Colors."

Lauper enjoys an As the World Turns connection: she performed in "The Laramie Project" benefit in December 2006 in New York, along with Van Hansis. This time around, the singer will be performing at Yo's and share scenes with Luke and Noah.

Don't look for a new As the World Turns episode on Monday. As for the rest of the week, however...

• Emily encourages Casey to do the right thing.

• Chris (Dylan Bruce, pictured) has a negative reaction to Alison’s decision.

• Meg (Marie Wilson) and Paul take a step towards each other.
