Ron Raines has received a Daytime Emmy-Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Daytime Drama in 2003 and 2004. He also received three nominations for Soap Opera Digest's "Outstanding Villain" award. Raines received his first ever nomination for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 2006.
These were all for the Guiding Light role of Alan Spaulding.
A trainer singer, Raines debuted with the New York City Opera in "The Merry Widow" and has sung in various productions with the Michigan Opera Theatre, including "Side By Side" with Nancy Dussault; "A Little Night Music," "Man of La Mancha," and "Follies," for which he was nominated for Best Actor by the Detroit Free Press.
