Bio

Phil Carey is a former U.S. Marine in World War II and the Korean War. He spent a large portion of his professional career starring in movies. But since 1980, Carey has been a fan favorite as One Life to Live's wheeler-dealer business tycoon, Asa Buchanan.

The actor studied drama at the University of Miami and was spotted by a  representative of Warner Bros. in Long Island after graduating; he asked him to take the screen test that launched Carey's film career.

While Phil loves to ride horses, he says the following in his official bio: I'm an actor who rides, not a rider who acts.
