Summary
Passions is a Daytime Emmy Award-winning American TV serial created by veteran writer James E. Reilly. It debuted on NBC in 1999, replacing the long running soap opera Another World, and its final airing on NBC will be September 7, 2007, before it switches to all-new new episodes on DirecTV-exclusive channel The 101 on September 17, 2007.
Passions originally centered largely around horror-oriented themes; it now routinely uses drama and comedy instead. Passions follows the various romantic and supernatural adventures of Harmony, a fictional New England town, and its interesting inhabitants.
Over its run, Passions has become widely known for its numerous parodies of pop culture. Catholicism and its principles figure greatly into the show's themes. Another trademark of the show is its attention paid to the concepts of fate and soulmates.
