The Young and the Restless star Chris Engen was recently featured in The Vancouver Sun.

Here's an excerpt from the article:

When Chris Engen walked on to the set of The Young and the Restless five months ago and into the shoes of character Adam Wilson, he had done a little homework, but not much.

Not because it wasn't a breakthrough role for a young actor -- his character's real name turns out to be Victor Newman Jr., making him the prodigal son of the daytime soap world's most venerable and villainous scion, Victor Newman, and thus the focus of many scenes -- but because it's just how he does things.

In fact, the 28-year-old Californian hadn't much watched the show - daytime's number-one soap opera, with about 5.3 million daily viewers - and didn't know all the characters, much less their story lines in the 35 years that The Young and the Restless has been on the air.

Christel Khalil won the 2008 NAACP Image Award for outstanding actress in a daytime drama series.

Aside from that impressive fact, here are a few interesting tidbits about The Young and the Restless star...

• Khalil remains close friends with Desperate Housewives star Lyndsy Fonseca (Dylan; ex-Colleen, The Young and the Restless).
• Khalil's most treasured possession is a gold necklace given to her by her grandmother.
• Fans often mistake Khalil for actress Jennifer Beals.
• During her hiatus from The Young and the Restless, Khalil studied French.
• Khalil has three older brothers: Adam, Alex and Chris

Christel Khalil is a mainstay on The Young and the Restless.
