Martha Byrne is trading in her acting shoes for a pen and paper.
According to Soaps.com, the former As the World Turns actress has joined the writing staff of another soap opera.
She'll soon be a part of of The Bold and the Beautiful team.
Byrne was nominated for 13 Daytime Emmy awards for her portrayal of Lily on As the World Turns. She won for Outstanding Lead Actress in 2001.

Ready to welcome Bryan Genesse back to The Bold and the Beautiful?
Soap Opera Weekly reports that the actor will reprise the role of Rocco Carner, who was one of the original characters when the show debuted in 1987.
"Truly, this is a homecoming for me," Genesse said in a statement. "I know the writers will make it an exhilarating roller coaster ride that I hope lasts a long, long time."
Look for to debut on March 12.
On last night's episode of The Bachelor, star Jason Mesnick and his aspiring suitors visited the set of General Hospital.
Once there, they ran into Bradford Anderson and Kirsten Storms, both of whom appeared in the background of this still shot from the episode (which involved the ladies playfully slapping, and kissing, Jason on set):

Joe Isuzu is coming to The Young and the Restless!
David Leisure, best known years ago for being a pitchman for Isuzu Automotive, has signed on to play Esther's new love interest on the show.
The character's name will be Roger, and the show bills him as a charming man with secret liaisons to shady characters.
Look for Leisure to debut on the show shortly.
