First, Days of Our Lives announced a major cast shake-up.
Now, Soap Opera Digest reports that Don Diamont, who originated the role of Brad Carlton in 1985, is leaving The Young and the Restless.
The show has no comment at this time, but an insider claims that it's a done deal and details of Brad's exit are being kept quiet.

OMG! Why are they doing this!?!Brad is a main character and so what if he doesn't have a storyline,they can give him one.Give him a love interest[not Sharon]wat about Logan, she's hot and they would make a cute couple

Don does an excellent job in playing Brad. I can't believe that Y&R is going to let him go when there is so much more that "Brad" can do in Genoa City. I'd love to see "Brad" and "Phyllis" together as a couple...talk about fireworks. But letting him go? Wrong move on Y&R's part.

Ever since you made Brad Jewish you turned his character into a real creep . I hope he will continue on with his career and be successful elsewhere.. He was an integral part of the show but became a one sided negative character as opposed to the complex one that he started out as!

This is a terrible mistake -- Brad is key to the Geona City men -- find a story line for him -- get rid of other dead wood -- but Brad!! Not only does he add charisma to the show, but he is key to keeping so many of the feuds in the show. It is very likely that you will lose many viewers because of this. I have watched the show since I'm a teenager (now 52)and am terribly dissapointed in the poor judgment being used. Brad is hot, handsome, sexy and charming. Find him something to do, but DON'T LET HIM GO. CUT CORNERS ELSEWHERE -- BUT KEEP DON IN THE SHOW -- DON'T MAKE THIS MISTAKE. Y&R will be the losers when another soap picks him up and viewers go to that soap.

I cannot believe that you are getting rid of Brad. I have watched your show since the beginning. Talk about someone who has no story line, you could have dumped Esther, she is a total nit wit. I wish Don Diamont success and you have made a terrible mistake.
