When Noah returns to The Young and the Restless on August 13, Nick and Sharon's son will be played by Kevin Schmidt.
Schmidt replaces child actor Hunter Allan in the role. Here's an interview with the rising daytime star:
A recent article in The Boston Globe focuses on the changes afoot at Guiding Light. Here's the introduction to the piece...
There's something oddly comforting about the classic daytime soap-opera aesthetic. Bold artifice has a perverse appeal, especially when you're home sick and channel surfing mindlessly among One Life to Live, As the World Turns, All My Children aned General Hospital.

The stage-set living rooms - like overly vacuumed furniture-store layouts - look just as they did 30 years ago, when you were home sick and channel surfing. The lighting is still too hot, the skin is still too pancaked, the hair, thank goodness, is still too teased.
So it was with some trepidation that I tuned into CBS's Guiding Light recently, after a friend told me that the 56-year-old daytime TV soap is employing a new filming technique designed to usher the ratings-starved genre into the age of reality TV...

Welcome to The Soap Dispenser. Recap the first day of an exciting new week of daytime drama in our Monday, July 28 soap opera recaps:
Thank you all, as always, for visiting our site for news and soap opera spoilers from The Young and the Restless to Days of Our Lives, General Hospital and all the rest, and making The Soap Dispenser the very best soap opera site!
While the similarities between The Sopranos and General Hospital might not be obvious to some, loyal viewers of each show can relate various mob story lines to one another.
These fans can also now be excited about a major casting scoop, first reported by Entertainment Weekly:
Vincent ''Big Pussy'' Pastore is set to appear on General Hospital this October. He'll take on the role of Maximus Giambetti, a big-time mobster who comes to Port Charles to deal with his two sons, Sonny's bodyguards Max (Derek Cheetwood) and Milo (Drew Cheetwood).

The characters hits town thinking his eldest is actually the local mob boss - an idea that his son may have helped foster - and is far from pleased to find out about his sons' lowly status in the biz. Expect the storyline to have some humor mixed in, sources report.
Rick Springfield is back on General Hospital. The singer is, once again, portraying Dr. Noah Drake and rock star Eli Love.
As TV Guide reports, the latter turns out to be a major ageist pig. Eli will perform a concert in Port Charles on July 29 and he'll deny to the press that he's dating his ladylove Anna (Finola Hughes, pictured with him here). The reason?
Her daughter, Robin (Kimberly McCullough), is pregnant.

"Eli is afraid it'll do damage to his career to be seen hanging out with a grandma — what will his young fans think?" Springfield said. "It was a hard thing for me to play because it's such a jerky thing to do."
He couldn't get away with this in real life.
"Are you kidding? My fans would never put up with that," the actor/singer said. "A lot of them are grandmas!"
Deidre Hall (Marlena) told Sara A. Bibel of TV Guide Canada that she'll be recreating the role of Marlena's twin sister, Samantha on the soap opera in the near future.
"I'm going to play two parts coming up — my twin sister, Samantha returns and it will be fascinating and exciting. I've never played two parts before," Hall said of an upcoming Days of Our Lives story line.
"My sister played Samantha last time. It has my heart pounding! It's not just playing two characters, but learning the dialogue for both characters."
Fans may remember that Deidre’s sister, Andrea Hall, originated the role and also played Sam’s look-alike, Hattie.
Hall replaced her sister as Hattie during the Salem Serial Killer angle, when the actress played Samantha in a hallucination.
Veteran actor Michael Gross has been cast on The Young and the Restless.
Gross will portray Lowell Baldwin, an old flame of Gloria (Judith Chapman) and deadbeat dad of defense attorney extraordinaire Michael (Christian LeBlanc).
Fans of the 1980's sitcom Family Ties are familiar with Gross after his long-time stint as that sitcom's patriarch, Steven Keaton. Look for him to debut on the show on August 15.

Michael Gross is coming to The Young and the Restless.
Joshua Morrow can't say enough good things about his wife, Tobe.
After watching her with their sons Cooper Jacob, Crew James, and Cash Joshua, The Young and the Restless star recently said his wife is a "champion" and was "put on this Earth to be a mother."
In fact,, because Morrow knows Tobe "wants a daughter," he'd be willing to procreate again with the love of his life. The couple loves their sons more than anything, but the actor does "wish there is something more I could do to make sure we have a girl."
"I did all the secret things last time, like keep the lights on, then the socks on and then there were times she would call me and say, 'Come home right now!' I know the sex of the baby is my fault, but the running argument is I make great boys," Morrow joked.
What's in store for various character on The Young and the Restless? Here are a few clues...
