Norway native Ewa da Cruz began modeling when she was 8 years old after being discovered at a store.

What else is interesting about this As the World Turns star? Here are a series of facts about her:

• Is of Norwegian and Egyptian descent, but her last name is Portuguese.

• Co-starred with Tammy Blanchard (ex-Drew, Guiding Light) in the film Bella.

• Was sent to audition for As the World Turns because she needed contract work when her visa was rejected.

• Originaly tested for Lucy on As the World Turns.

• Was conversational in English, but became fluent in the language after she came to the United States in 2002.
  

Genie Francis will return to General Hospital in August for what is slated to be a short-term guest-starring stint.

Viewers will recall that the actress returned briefly in 2006; that return actually helped Francis win her first Daytime Emmy Award. Francis appears happy to be returning to her on-screen family.

"This is a short visit," Francis said in a statement. "It's a mother-daughter story. Years ago when I started playing the character as a 14-year-old girl, it was a mother-daughter story, only I was the daughter. So it's kinda cool this is full circle. It's nice to come back for visits. General Hospital is my home."

This Wednesday, in light of the upcoming One Life to Live 40th Anniversary, Robert S. Woods and Erika Slezak (pictured) will appear on The View.

The anniversary episodes for this series are set to air on July 21 and 22. Will you be tuning in?
