A Few Words from Susan Lucci

Susan Lucci is the most famous actress on daytime television. The All My Children actress recently found time, though, to speak with The Mississippi Sun Herald.

Here are highlights from the conversation:

Q: What have you been up to lately?

A: Well, I've been up to being in jail as Erica Kane on All My Children, and having Warren Buffett recently visit. She thought he was going to try to get her out. What he actually did was bring her directions to learn to play contract bridge, so she could better pass the time. That's what he had in mind.

Q: How would you describe Erica Kane, the character?

A: Well, very spirited, very headstrong, very much someone who you're not going to keep down. Agnes Nixon has described her as a phoenix rising from the ashes. And so the audience watches that journey down, down, down into the ashes. A lot of times it's fun to watch her. Sometimes they love her, sometimes they hate her, sometimes all of the above. And then they watch her pick herself up and dust herself off and try again.

An Accident on The Young and the Restless

Next week on The Young and the Restless, Nick gets into a car accident. As a result, his memory actually returns.

"Phyllis goes to the hospital and he says, 'I'm fine,' but he's being distant," Michelle Stafford (pictured), who plays Nick's current wife, said to The New York Daily News. "Phyllis is thinking, 'Oh, he hit his head again. He's forgotten me.'"

Radiant in Red

Ever since Nick lost his memory in a plane crash two years ago, that's not a bad assumption.

"He says, 'Go away. I'm fine.' So they all go away and he sees this little girl, who reminds him of Cassie - and his memory comes back."

Ricky Paull Goldin Blog: Cameron Mathison is a Sweetheart

In his latest version of Ricky's Ramblings, Ricky Paull Goldin writes about recent scenes on All My Children:

For all you ladies out there, I did my first scenes with Cameron Mathison last night. And yes he is a sweetheart and a very giving scene partner.

I want to give him a shout out, because I had all this hospital medical jargon to spew, but I f****d up a few times, thank you for putting up with my cursing in between takes!

Let me tell you something people, playing a doctor but doing it well, ain't easy. I'm actually going to silo some doctors through the ER as part of my research and due diligence on this character. One thing I can't stand is for any of that stuff to look or sound fake. My job just got ten times harder.

All My Children Changes Head Writers

James Harmon Brown and Barbara Esensten, who were named co-head writers of All My Children May 2007, will no longer be penning the happenings in Pine Valley.

Their replacement?

Former General Hospital co-writer scribe, Charles Pratt, Jr., whose writing credits also include Melrose Place, Sunset Beach and Santa Barbara ; more recently, he's been serving as a producer on ABC of Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty.

Reign of Kent King is Over

Kent King (Lainey, General Hospital) has been bumped to recurring status on the ABC soap opera.

Will this affect her status on the second season of General Hospital: Night Shift? It's unclear at this time.

A Few Words from The Bold and the Beautiful Head Writer

Bradley Bell (pictured), head writer and executive producer on The Bold and the Beautiful, recently spoke about his Daytime Emmy Award nomination

CBS.com: How does it feel to be nominated?
BRADLEY BELL: Oh, it's very nice. It's wonderful. It's always a treat to be nominated.

CBS.com: What are some standout moments from last year for you?
BRADLEY BELL: I think the shows surrounding Brooke's rape were excellent. Episode 5,000 in and of itself I thought was very special for us.

CBS.com: The current storyline with Storm and Katie has been amazing. How have you been feeling about how it's playing out?
BRADLEY BELL: I've been thrilled. It's exceeded my expectations. We worked really hard on these weeks of shows and Heather Tom, Jennifer Gareis, the Logan girls, Patrick Duffy coming in, Katherine Kelly Lang, William deVry - everyone has been sensational, production has been right on it. I just couldn't be more thrilled. This is really what we try to do.
