Kim Zimmer Expresses Dipleasure over Guiding Light Direction
It's safe to say Kim Zimmer is a tad frustrated with the current state of her character on Guiding Light. Zimmer expressed as much in a message below fans on her official website.
My absence on the show has been greatly noticed! Not just by me and you, my fabulous die-hards, but also by my business manager who said to me the other day, as the market keeps falling:
"Is this one day a week stuff going to stop any time soon?" My response to him (as I talked myself down) was to say, "I have no idea what this regime is doing!"
All I know is that for the first time in my history on this show I am way under my guaranteed number of shows.
I don't understand why they would rather pay a character (actor) with such history and connection to what was Guiding Light to not work, than to work said actor their negotiated number of shows a week. But then I'm not the executive director nor am I the "suit" at P & G who has to put up the money (free money) to an under worked actor.
I wish I could tell you all that the reason I haven't been on the show was because I was in rehearsals for some fabulous Broadway show or on remote for a great indie film, but the reality is that I've been sitting on my butt wondering why I'm not being written. I don't know who the powers that be dislike more, Kim Zimmer or Reva Shayne.
That being said, I won't be seen after next week for another two because I took my vacation. So hopefully when I get back they will have come up with a bread crumb to throw my way.... Sour grapes? Damn Straight!!!!! I love you all and am so glad to have you in my corner.

The powers-that-be at GL need to do anything and everything in their power to make Kim Zimmer and her fans happy and keep GL on the air for another 71 years. It would be such a tradgedy to lose such a part of Americana and a venue for someone as beloved as Kim Zimmer and Reva Shayne.

I have been watching this show since I was a little girl. My mother and grandmother both watched the show and we are HUGE Fans of Reva Shayne! This show would not be the same without her and quite frankly we are getting bored of the show without her on it!! If she doesn't come back on soon, we are going to stop watching (And although you may think there are only 3 in my family watching - think again! I can name at least 25 who watch it and my co-workers have already stopped watching!!) Let me be a writer!

I think that Ms.Zimmer is wonderful! But, I wonder if her comments will help her get what she wants. . . that is a storyline! I'am not so sure. When I read about the Jeffery/Reva storyline there is little or nothing about them! They continue to enjoy their realationship. Thats NOT good! Soap couples have problems and hard times! I don't any of that in the future for Reva. Everytime there is something that could bring drama, NOTHING! They have become a little boring in that there is nothing to watch! Hopefully, that will change for the better!

I agree I have been a fan since I was a little girl and my grandmother watched the show even before that. GL without Reva Shane may as well be taken off of the air. Obviously, P&G doesn't care about the future of GL or they wouldn't be allowing this horrible camera work and boring story lines. I did better camera work in my college film class. And these fools are getting paid to do this.

Is the storyline going in the direction of more problems with Reva's health or is this really happening in Kim's life again?????
Kim is in my prayers anyway...

The only reason I continued to watch guiding light is because of Reva or Kim Zimmer. I love her acting and she makes is look so real. I not only admire her but just from her acting I can tell she as spunk and she's a strong interesting woman. I have been watch Guiding Light since I was a kid with my Mom and she was the only reason besides Josh that I watched the show. The team you had before was the best ever. Alan, Josh, Billy, Vanessa are some that come to mind. Also it was really great the way they did the show when Vanessa's Dad died since he died in real live. Guiding Light needs to get that class back and keeping Kim(Reva) off the show is not the way to do it. I have watch this show for 25 years. BRING BACK KIM AND THE CLASS cause this is the only way the show will remain on for the next 71 years !!! Other wise you are throwing away an awesome show for nothing.

I too have been watching GL for a long time, about 37 years, I taped and saved the 2 or 3 shows when Reva had cancer, I was afraid she might not be back, And honestly if she had left I would have left then. Cassie had been replaced,Pillip has been gone and coming back for 2-3 years, that was getting really old, Ross left, Brook became a real B, Tammy and Jonathon left practically at the same time, then you wait for an unreasonable amount of time and Jonathon resurfaces for what 6 weeks, gone again, The filming is absolutely terrible. Actually myself and my two daughters stopped watching in April of this year,(they have been watching since they were little girls, and now they are 27 and 37) mostly because of the filming, but the writing is horrible and I just couldn't sit thru another hour of any of it. So long to the best soap ever, you're also on the bottom of the list for ratings. What a shame. I taped and watched almost every show.. I really miss it, I watched the show a couple weeks ago, somebody said Reva was pg, now thats rediculous...She is a great actor, give her something to do, I wish I could turn it back on and you guys were filming like you use to and that the story would keep me sitting on the edge of my seat like it use to. I can't believe you lost Cassie to GH....Shame on you.....
I"m glad I saw this web site, I've been wanting vent for a really long time. If possible let me know if you get it together....
