Kelly Monaco Offers Dancing with the Stars Advice

Kelly Monaco has some advice for the latest crop of celebrities foxtrotting into the Dancing With the Stars ballroom.

The soap actress and first-season champion recently told The Associated Press on the set of General Hospital that she thinks the sixth-season participants should "put `Extra' and `TMZ' ... aside. They're there to have fun and learn how to dance. It should be something really personal."

Former Dancing Champ

Monaco, who's played Sam McCall on General Hospital since 2003, won the first season of the competition in 2005 — and remains the show's only female champion.

She lost to runner-up John O'Hurley during a 90-minute "dance-off" rematch that was determined solely by viewer votes.

"I'm just happy I did it when I did it," Monaco said. "Back then, I think there was some innocence in the process. It wasn't too skewed or manipulated. The downside now is that contestants are going in with this scheme of what the show can and can't do to build a career. I'm glad I wasn't part of that chaos."

Bronson Pinchot Discusses The Young and the Restless Role

bronson-pinchot_l.jpg Entertainment Weekly recently spoke with former Perfect Strangers star, Bronson Pinchot, about his guest starring role on The Young and the Restless...

Entertainment Weekly: So what led you to take on a role on a soap opera?
Bronson Pinchot: Oh, the usual... a casting director called. [Laughs] And I thought it would be really fun. I've done opera, radio, big movies, little movies, primetime... there's no aspect of media I haven't done except soaps. I'm big on ignoring the snobbiness of genre-fication. Doing a soap is really hard. You have to get it in one take.

How'd you end up playing the character?
I ended up being kind of quirky, which won't surprise you. But it was not a case of a comedic actor coming in and taking over. There was some aspect of humor, but I don't like it when actors force themselves into a situation. I always start with what a character is trying to do and go from there. I made it up as I went along based on the character’s reason for doing things. He was rather eager to please.

Would you consider a recurring role?
I'd love to come back if we could make the schedules work. It's an incredibly welcoming, warm environment. There's a unique group wisdom to a soap opera cast that I really appreciate.

Ron Leath: Returning to Days of Our Lives

Ron Leath will be coming back to Salem into the role of Henderson, Victor Kiriakis' butler. Look for Leath to appear on April 2. This actor joined the cast of Days of Our Lives way back in 1986.

The character of Henderson has been extremely loyal to Victor over the years, keeping his job as butler, especially during the time when fire took hold of the Kiriakis mansion years ago.
