Days of Our Lives: Paging Past General Hospital Stars!

Tamara Braun PictureAs Tamara Braun (pictured) joins the cast of Days of Our Lives later this month, Soap Opera Digest notes that the actress who portrayed former mob moll Carly Corinthos on General Hospital is far from the first person to switch from the latter series to the former.

Here's a look at a few others:

Stephen Nichols
Donning an eye patch, Nichols defined a new kind of sexy when he premiered as Days of Our Lives' Steve Johnson, a wild-eyed, blue jean-clad bad boy, in 1985. Nichols played a major personality shift in 1996, when he turned up on General Hospital as stuffy Stefan Cassadine.

Mary Beth Evans
Talk about an about-face! In 1986, Evans took on the role of Days of Our Lives' girl next store Kayla Brady, the epitome of sugar & spice and everything nice. Fans were shocked when she turned up on General Hospital in 1993 as manipulative Katherine Bell, who had an affair with a younger man, Nikolas!

However, fans took solace in the fact that she was eventually united with Stefan, portrayed by her former Days of Our Lives' soul mate, Stephen Nichols.

As the World Turns: Actors on the Way

This month, several actors will be joining the cast of As the World Turns. Some will stay for awhile, some will not.

Dominic Fumusa PhotoHere are quick summations of the roles Dominic Fumusa (pictured), Eric William Morris and Tala Ashe will portray on the series.

Fumusa, whose credits include CSI: Miami, The Sopranos and Bones, will make his debut in early February. He'll be a character named Gray.  According to CBS, he'll be portraying a big role in Vienna (Ewa Da Cruz) and Henry's (Trent Dawson) continual happiness.

Morris will appear as Matt, starting February 11.  His character will be included in Casey's (Billy Magnussen) return to Oakdale.

Lastly, Ashe joins the cast of As the World Turns as Ameera. She arrives in town as the link of both Luke (Van Hansis) and Noah (Jake Silbermann).  Ameera is expected to appear on Friday, February 22.

One Life To Live: Ready to Go Red

As One Life to Live fans know, the residents of Llanview are gearing up for the American Heart Association's “Go Red Ball,” spilling major secrets along the way.

farah-fath-go-red.jpg Now, in a move that brings viewer participation to a new level, SOAPnet is inviting fans to send their own secrets during the “One Life To Live Marathon: Secrets Exposed” on Sunday, February 17.

From now until that date, fans can send their secrets to SOAPNet, which will air the juiciest and most scandalous stories during the five-hour special run of One Life to Live.  The cable network will also be revealing a handful of One Life to Live spoilers.

Wanna spill your secrets during this event? Follow these steps:

  1. Text SECRET, followed by the actual message, to 94999.
  2. Next, you'll receive a confirmation text from SOAPnet saying that your message has been received.
  3. Tune in to the One Life to Live marathon to find out if your secret was chosen.

Meanwhile, the “Go Red Ball” storyline on One Life to Live begins in a week, on February 11.  The ball, which will be hosted by Viki (Erica Slezak) and Dorian (Robin Strasser) is a fund raiser to benefit heart health awareness.

"It makes sense, since she has her dead husband's heart in a transplant," Strasser told Soap Opera Weekly recently, "and I am a medical doctor, as Dorian loves to tell people."
