Soap Opera Dates to Remember

We've already published news on the following actors returning to various soap operas, but here are the confirmed dates for various comebacks:

January 16: Rebecca Budig returns as Greenlee on All My Children. ABC is promoting her as "the real" Greenlee (versus Sabine Singh, as the "fake Greelee," we guess).

January 18: Angie (Debbi Morgan) returns to All My Children. Angie will come back to Pine Valley to tend to an ailing patient... who turns out to be her son!

January 25: Jesse (Darnell Williams), who is Angie's husband who died on screen 20 years ago, returns. Oops! Even death is a minor inconvenience on most daytime dramas.

January 31: Emmy winner Sarah Brown returns to General Hospital as a new character - not as Carly Benson, the role that won her the Emmy. She'll play the sister of one of the show's gangsters.

Soap Opera Stars are Into Tails and Tots

Justis Bolding PictureJustis Bolding (Sarah), Sabine Singh (Sarah and soon-to-be ex-Greenlee of All My Children) and several of their colleagues are getting ready for the the first-ever Tails N Tots charity event May 10.

It will take place at the Imperial Swan Hotel in Orlando.

Bolding and Singh’s two charities – Best Friends Society for Animals and the Katrina Relief Youth Training Program, respectively – will benefit from proceeds of this star-studded event. Other actors slated to attend include:

  • Bree Williamson
  • John Brotherton
  • Brandon Buddy
  • BethAnn Bonner

There's One Life To Live in Paris, Texas

Victoria Lord DavidsonAs loyal One Life to Live fans know, Erika Slezak's character of Viki is working as a waitress in Paris, Texas.

Residents of that town are thrilled about such a development.

"Isn't that a hoot!' Becky Semple, the Lamar County tourism director, said to The Deseret Morning News. "We've gotten lots of calls; so far it's been very positive."

Joni Kincaid of Paris is too busy working to watch One Life to Live when it airs Monday through Friday. She waits on tables at Magel's Grill. But her daughter is taping each episode for her.

"I've been following Viki at least 20 years, " Kincaid said.

Is she surprised the soap heroine is in Paris, Texas?

"I'm surprised anybody ever comes to Paris, Texas," she said with a grin.

"But really, there's lots of friendly people here."

Shirley Jones Joins Cast of Days of Our Lives

Singer Shirley Jones will join the cast of Days Of Our Lives in February.

The Oscar winner (for Elmer Gantry in 1950) will play the role of Colleen Brady, complete with an Irish accent.

The role marks Jones' first foray into daytime television, and while we have no Days of Our Lives spoilers right now regarding any story lines, the singer/actress did say:

"It's hard work! I didn't want to do it - but they gave me more money than ..."

We'll let you think of the four-letter word Jones used to end that sentence.
