Friend of Sabine Singh Says Actress is Devasted by All My Children Firing
Someone claiming to be a close friend of Sabine Singh's has posted a long message on the Sabine Singh Fan Space.
Here's what "palolive75" had to say about the actress' dismissal from All My Children:

hi. im new to the board but have been reading it for months now as ss is one of my oldest dearest friends from home. I also hope she does not get angry at me for writing today and speaking HER TRUTH. She is DEVASTATED but is doing everything she can to hide it and continue to honor and respect the show, the fans, and her friends at amc.
She was given the news this week and basically, i kid you not, given less than a week to "quietly get out".
regardless of if you like her or hate her, as a close member in her life i can tell you she has spent the past 10 months of her life giving amc everything.

I am upset to hear of Sabine being let go from AMC. I adore her as Greenlee. She is a much better Greenlee than RB. When Sabine first appeared as Greenlee I had a hard time accepting her. I felt she couldn't replace RB. Boy was I wrong. She made the part her own. She is a wonderful actress. I will miss her being on AMC. I wish her the best and I hope she will find a role on another soap. One where she isn't replacing another actress but where she is bringing a new character to the canvas.

I can't believe they're replacing Sabine Singh. While I loved Rebecca in the role, I feel that Sabine has transformed the character into something even better. Replacing her now will only ruin the storyline, and the direction that AMC is going in. Sabine's chemistry with the other characters is far better than Rebecca's; particularly the relationship between Aidan and Greenlee. I'm VERY disappointed!

I am also devastated. Ive been watching this show for a while now and i only watch it for sabine. If her last appearance is really Jan 15th then that will also be my last day watching amc.

There is something about Sabine and I am in shock that they are doing this to her and to us the viewers. What a mess they are making of All My Children.

I'm sorry to hear Sabine was let go, but I'm actually very grateful for Rebecca coming home! I was so upset when she left, and simply could not see anyone else that could interact with all my favorite AMC characters-especially the chemistry between Rebecca & Alicia...now THAT"S GREAT ACTING! Jack will be thrilled that his real "daughter" is back!...maybe Ryan, too.

Anyone who enjoyed Sabine on AMC is encouraged to write positive letters to ABC executives saying you appreciated her work, is sorry to see her go, and you would like to see her again on another ABC soap (or even back on AMC in a different role, like Sarah Brown is doing on GH).

I second your posts, granted it took me a while to get used to Sabine Singh but to see someone else playing Greenlee now :( that's pretty sad, I already cannot stand the new Babe and now this, the chemistry Sabine had with Aiden was awesome, I cannot see Rebecca pulling this one off either

I have to say that I was not a fan of Sabine when she started...its hard to get usto someone new. However, she realy grew on me and I am sooo bummed to hear that she was fired - I cant imagine for what! Maybe she can come join my other favorite soap - GH!!!!!

I am sorry for Sabine, but she just doesn't have the strength to play the character, Greenlea, as created by Rebecca Budig.
The "softness" others have said that Sabine brought to her performance was in direct opposition to the way " THE GREENLEA" would have reacted, so I'm delighted that the character we all loved to adore [or hate] will return.
Welcome home Rebecca!
As for Sabine, I've seen her on other shows and feel that she is a good actress. We all wish only the best for her and look forward to seeing her in another role on a different show.

It took me a while to get used to Sabine as Greenlee, but now I love her in the role. Maybe a role in "Nip/Tuck" or "Bones" as a long lost sibling or something.

i'm used to Sabine playing Greenlee and she has done a great job, i hate it when the characters are shuffled around like dice. bring back the old Babe and KEEP SABINE AS GREENLEE she made the character her own.

After seeing Sabine in the role of GREENLEE, I can't even IMAGINE the role being played by any other actress. I never was that fond of RB anyway.
As for AMC... shame on you! What a slap in the face to promote RB as the "real Greenlee."
After the last few weeks of Zach & Greenlee trapped together, I came to love Sabine even more. Their scenes together were real, sensitive, funny and tender. Would RB have had the same chemistry with Zach's character? I think not!
I really won't miss AMC and I hoping that a lot of other viewers feel the same. Let's make our feeling's known, people! Write letters and make phone calls. We want to KEEP the "REAL" Greenlee and her name is Sabine Singh!!!

Sabine, you're a wonderful actress playing Greenlee and your chemistry with Aiden is superb. Wish there were better news for you, but the corporate execs think they "know" what the people want, and they enjoy manipulating things just to stir the pot and make waves. I can see changing characters when the actor/actress wishes to move out or is ill. Soap fans always get the short end of these changes.

I am so sad to see you leave. I think what AMC has done is just awful. I know that you will find something even better. After a long time not being able to get into the new Greenlee and feeling no one could be her except Rebecca, I was getting used to Sabine. I am glad Rebecca is coming back, but I hate the changing of characters, it even bothers me when they have a different baby or child (I loved the other Spike so much, what a cutie! Whatever happened to that kid?)
I am sorry for Sabine, it's really not fair, and I was wondering what she was feeling. I am sure she will pick herself up and get a new job. What about OLTL, Sabine? ALSO, man I hate the new Babe too (no offense new Babe). Alexa will always be Babe to me.

I just found out that you were replaced with Rebecca Budig. I am so dissappointed, I did love Rebecca years ago, but you gave this character a different twist and you had great chemistry with all the characters. I think that you have taken over the role of Greenlee effortlessly and you have truly been a joy to watch. You are an excellent actress. I knew the role when portrayed by RB, but I thought you gave it new life and character and made it your own. I was dissapointed to see advertisements annoucing your replacement. I thought why would they replace her she is doing an excellent job. YOU WERE GREAT IN THIS ROLE...you had some difficult scenes in these past few months and you acted your little heart out...you deserve to stay. I have been watching AMC for more years than I care to admit to. Like the other comments here I was slow to warm to Sabine but now I do feel sorry to see her to loose this role. It is obvious that she has worked hard to fill Rebecca's shoes but that is what she was doing trying to fill someone elses shoes. I hope ABC recognizes the talent they have here and are quick to recast her in a role that can spotlight her own persona. Good Luck to Sabine in all her future roles. Oh yes and like so many others voicing their opinions here...the new Babe sucks.

I never watched AMC when RB was on.. I do recall her character, but I don't recall her. I think it was horrible what they did to SS and I really think that Sabine is a great actress. I really hate to see her go. I think Sabine did a great job of playing Greenlee and it was right for ABC to market RB as "the real Greenlee". I hope she finds a home on another soap asap.

I loved Sabine as Greenlee, she should get an award for her tender portrayal, she really brought new life to the role. I wish AMC would keep her, even if she played another part, she has great ability to transform herself!

First of all, Greenlee can not be REAL nor FAKE...she is a CHARACTER! This whole REAL Greenlee campaign is really ticking me off... Ok, so say the "Original Greenlee" for gramatical sense...but good lord! What a slap in the face to Sabine! She came in to AMC when it started to go down the drain. She was written to be a monster of a character and honestly, I can not see Rebecca Budig being able to have pulled that off... Now they wrote the storyline back to the days of old..and poof, Rebecca is back to steal Sabines fire. When SS played Greenlee,she put her heart and soul into it, and it showed. I think it is horrible that AMC has been promoting the REAL greenlee crap, having all the actors gush about how happy they are that the real greenlee is back, but not ONE...ONE ad or commercial with the cast saying Sorry to see you go Sabine...or Good job...it's sickening. Regardless of who you think was a better Greenlee, it is distasteful and disrespectful what AMC has done, and I really have no desire to TIVO the show tomorrow. I've been watching this show for 20+ years, and never have been so disgusted...
