Steve Burton Speaks on Jason Morgan, General Hosptial Spoilers
Warning: The following may contain General Hospital spoilers.
Steve Burton recently took the time to discuss his character's recent interactions and relationships on the show. He talked about how, after his adoptive little sister Emily Quartermaine (Natalia Livingston) was strangled to death, Jason was devastated because he was quite protective of her.
Overflowing with remorse, Jason turns to Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) for comfort, especially after hearing his ex-lover's moving eulogy for his sister.
"He goes to Elizabeth's house because he doesn't know where else to go," Burton explained. "She comes in and sees him. They hug and she leads him upstairs."
As Jason and Elizabeth give in to their emotions and eventually hop into bed, another question emerges: Is Jake safe with his mobster father?
"That's been the sticking point this whole time," the General Hospital star said. "Elizabeth thinks Jake would be safer if Lucky [Greg Vaughan] was the father. The danger is real, something could happen. Especially now with Johnny Zacchara [taking over the mob] and watching what his dad has done. He's a nut job.
Jason says, 'Do I want my kid to be in that kind of life?' He starts thinking about all that."
Though Jason is Jake's biological father, he ponders the fact that police officer Lucky, Jason's legal father, wants everyone to keep thinking he's Jake's dad to protect him. Moreover, given that Lucky has the child's best interest at heart, he can't disagree with that.
"He has to take the emotion out of it, which is hard at this point, because his sister just died. Jason finally said that Jake is his son, and that he loves Elizabeth. The next logical step would be for them to get together. But Jason's business is always in the way," Burton said.

He needs to go back Sam, then he wouldnt have to hide that he has a son, he could easily have Jake in life with Sam, Instead of acting like 2 teenagers hiding sex from people to keep elizabitch's halo in tack. She is the one who told Jason he had to give his child to her not claim him, so if he is stupid enough to let that bubble head lead him around by the nose then he deserves to suffer, look wht he did to Sam, he loved her and walked away from her lied to her... THe ONE THING JASON COULDNT STAND WAS LIES. WAS His CODE He Lived By.. wht happen to that? Liz manipulated him again, He told Liz he loved Sam he didnt want hurt, But did Liz care NO she went after him when he was vulnerable and all hell broke loose, if she cared when she found out she was pregnant she should have aborted the preg, then none of this mess would be going on. he and Sam would be back together. Liz and Jason suck as a couple

I agree, Jason and Liz are better as friends, I hope that maybe through this mess, that possibly Liz and Sam could be friends, this would be awesome, But Like I said, As far Jason and Liz being Lovers Naym they dont have the chemistry that Sam has with Jason she is his ride hard and die hard woman she can hang with him she excepts him for who he is, he dont have to change anything,Sam is Jason's soulmant, They were great together, They played well off each other, they were loved, I feel in order for Gh to survive they better mend the fences between Sam and Jason soon, because many Viewers of long time fans been watching are leaving the soap.Liz is not the one for Jason But Sam is. bring back Jason and Sam.

When Elizabeth first came on the show, she was a brat. She smoked cigarettes, snuck out of the house, and did everything she could to give her Grandma Audrey grief because she was resentful of her absent parents and jealous of her sister. It wasn't until after her rape and her teenage love affair with Lucky that she grew into a character that was likeable, and eventually loveable. What happened to her? How did she begin so self-righteous and holier-than-thou? The way she treated Lucky was despicable, and while his drug use and affair with Maxi were no doubt painful, she had already had the hots for Jason for quite some time. Hence her motivation for going straight to his place and climbing up 17 flights of stairs (or how ever many Sam always likes to point out) during a blackout to get into bed with Jason. In her mind, Lucky's affair gave her carte blanche to go after who she really wanted, Jason. Jason and Sam on the other hand, now that is a couple that really works. Or did until he started pushing her away and lying to her. I have had a guy push me away "to protect me from harm", and I know personally how painful that can be. No amount of harm is worse than the pain intentionally inflicted upon you by the person you love and trust the most, no matter how good their intentions may be. I still love and hurt over "my Jason". Jason has no right to keep blaming and hurting Sam, after the way he lied to and hurt her. As far as what she did to Elizabeth (re: not stopping the woman from kidnapping Jake, hiring the guys to hold her up and scare her away from Jason), well she was grieving and hurt and operating in full vengeance mode. No one got hurt, and she has since helped to save Jake (the hospital thing with Joe and the "bomb"). Jason needs to forgive her and they need to get back together. Although Lucky and Sam don't make such a bad couple, but we all know it's a rebound thing for both of them. They need to find someone nice for Lucky, (hey, what about Lucky and Layla? Now I could totally see that working! She is beautiful, sweet, smart and loyal.) and Elizabeth can just go on being a self-righteous supermom by herself. I recently ran into Kelly Monaco having dinner with friends at a popular Hollywood spot, and I spoke with her for a few moments. She was very sweet and gracious. I told her I wanted Sam and Jason back together, and she must be sick of hearing that, and she said "No not at all! I want us back together too!" Although I do have to stress that she did not indicate one way or another whether or not that would occur, nor did I ask. But who knows, maybe it will happen, since even the actress herself wants it to!

Maybe if Sam weren't such a coniving witch. I hope that text message gets ahold of her!!!! I always switch the channel when scenes with her are on. I think Elizabeth is exactly what Jason needs. She can be a soft touch in his life. Go Jason and Liz!!!

jASON AND SAM are better for eachother.
Jason and Elizabeth are to boring.
Not only that elizabeth is to scared of things, she was better off with Lucky.
I think there should be a twist and jason and sam sleep together and she gets pregnant. So then JASAM will be back together again.
Since they broke up the story lines with Jason are getting Very Dull. Sure SAM Made mistakes but so has Elizabeth, shes not the perfect angel people make her out to be.
Jasam need to get back togther and ill admit im a huge fan of them.
They better get togther VERY SOON.

I started watching the show when Nikolas was just gettting together with Gia and Elizabeth and Jason had a thing for each other.. I used to cross my fingers and hope that they would get together, because they had good chemistry. Then Kelly Monaco's Sam came to town, got tangled in everyone's lives, and wound up being the perfect match for Steve Burton's Jason. They had great chemistry, and Sam's character meshed well with Jason's. She's not afraid of his life, she accepts him and complements him the way he is, and most importantly she is not ashamed or scared of being seen with him. I have to say it was truly disappointing to see them break up; even when they're mad at each other you can see their feelings in their eyes. What was more disappointing was seeing Elizabeth and Jason get together in this lame storyline of sneaking around town. They don't have the same chemistry they had years ago. They look like mere friends, miserable because they're trying to act like they're lovers.
As for the rumors circulating about why they broke up in the first place, the only thing I can think of was how degrading it must've been for Kelly Monaco to have to be separated from an actor she was probably good friends with (they're closeness just shows when I watch their old clips) and ruin her character's relatively good reputation in the process. I seriously think the GH writers were expecting her to quit after Dancing With the Stars so they intentionally ruined her character with the kidnappings, etc. I just hope that they fix this awful storyline because i'm sick of watching these characters disgrace themselves.

I think that those freaks who is rooting for sam and jason not to be, are fools who know nothing about chemistry. if they did, they would know that sam and jason is prefect for each other. Liz should go to hell.

SO CAN ELIZBETH REMEMBER JASON WAS NOT ALWAYS THE BAD BOY. AND WE COULD SEE WHAT ELIZBETH CAN DO FOR HER MAN IF THE JUST WAIT AND SEE. SAM WAS ALWAYS IN TROUBLE AND JASON THE SAVOR. I LOVE JASON AND ELIZABETH TOGETHER. LIKE MOST OF YOU, THEY ARE THE BIGGEST REASON WHY I WATCH GH EVERYDAY. SAM IS BETTER OFF NOT BEING W/JASON. ALL SHE DOES AND DID WAS WHINE ABOUT HER AND WHAT SHE CAN'T HAVE AND WASN'T GOING TO GET. ELIZABETH IS SO SWEET AND EXACTLY WHAT JASON NEEDS. JASAM if you look at all their past scenes would see just how much they loved eachother. in fact, jason even says in a scene how he's never loved ANYONE as much as he loved sam and that he ALWAYS will!!!
the writers really ruined this couple
and i don't know what the show was thinking to have liz get pregnant by jason....worst idea ever! they are by far the worst match in daytime television...they really don't suit eachother at all and they is no comparison to be made with JASAM
on the other hand, lucky and sam make a pretty good and sexy couple...but then again lucky and liz really belong together...i actually love them together

Jason and Elizabeth are the next best thing to Luke and Laura. I watched the show in the 70s and 80s; came back after two decades for the 25th anniversary of Luke and Laura. I have been trapped by the chemistry and romance of Jason and Elizabeth. I tivo all episodes just to capture every moment of screen time of J and E. Please more of this - let them be the happy drama - the role models of "how to work through problems" together.

Jason and Liz are the perfect couple!! You all that are saying Sam is his match obviously do not have kids!! Jason is a great dad and Elizabeth was selfish to ask such a thing from Jason! HELLO - Give up his son that he has wanted for so long! Sam put little children in danger - not someone you would want around kids. Keep the Jason and Liz story going - There will never be another Luke and Laura but this comes mighty close!!

I like the Jason and Liz pairing. Their selfless w/each other. I know nothing of the SAM character except, what she had done to those poor children. The character isn't very likeable at the moment. Didn't really like the Jason character until I saw him w/Liz and their friendship. I think most relationships work better w/you being friends first. Plus this is a soap and they never stay with the same woman or man more then 2 or 3 years, to due anything else would be boring. Sam and Jason and Liz and Lucky, had their time, now it's time to move to new relationships w/new issues. And how honest is it to chose the safety of your kids over the man you love. That's not being weak, that's being smart and strong.

I LOATH Jason & Elizabeth together. They are so boring! I wonder if the people who want them together watched the show before last year.
Elizabeth acted like a spoiled, hateful, little witch when Jason & Courtney got together. She even took Rick's side against Jason and stated that she HATES everything Jason stands for! Hmm wonder when that changed!
Elizabeth has been playing Jason since the time Sam was lying in the hospital with a gun shot wound. She is a self-serving ho that intentionally got pregnant and didn't care who she hurt in the process (including her son) which I think is Lucky's.
She calls Sam trash...She better look in a MIRROR!
