Before Vail Bloom made it big on The Young and the Restless, she was featured in Maxim as a "Hometown Hottie."

Vail Bloom was discovered as an actress after she was featured in Maxim in 2003.
Best place to meet guys in your town: "TI, short for Tiger Inn. It's always dim, which is convenient for sketchy make-out sessions in the corner."
Even better place to make out: "A club called Cottage. There's a closet next to the dance floor. It's fun to hide in there while people are dancing a few inches away."
Best music venue: "Prospect Avenue, which we all just call the Street,' the second weekend in May. Every lawn is filled with live bands."
On Guiding Light these days, a certain Aussie beauty has Frank concerned about his daughter, Marina.
As relayed to Soap Opera Digest, meanwhile, his portrayer, Frank Dicopoulos, can relate.
"I'm overprotective of my real family," the actor said. "I can't imagine Frank Dicopoulos being in the same position as Frank Cooper. It would be horrible!"
Dicopoulos is the father of daughter Olivia Dicopoulos, who also stars on Guiding Light as Vanessa and Matt's daughter, Maureen.
"I have a wonderful relationship with both of my children," said Frank, "but it's different between the sexes. I love my son, but with my daughter it's a different thing. There's always a special bond between fathers and daughters."
On the show, Dicopoulos says he was "kind of concerned about the Thanksgiving scene" recently because his character comes off as a jerk. But his bond with Marina is in jeopardy due to his refusal to accept her love for international criminal Cyrus.
How would any father react to that?
"It's a tough situation," said Dicopoulos. "I'm sure a lot of people out there are going to be able to relate to it. As a parent, you just want to do the best you can for your children and protect them."
Overall, viewer reaction to the story line appears to be mixed.
"Some fans say, 'back off,' and, 'lay off of her,'" said Dicopoulos. "Then I get people who defend me and say, 'Good for you! If had a dad like Frank, I wouldn't be in my situation.' Then some fans jump on the other fans' opinions. It's crazy!"
Here's a bit of happy news for all fans of The Young and the Restless... or just all fans of children:
Thad Luckinbill and Amelia Heinle welcomed a healthy baby boy on November 2. His name is Thaddeus Rowe Luckinbill into their family and he weighed 8 lbs at birth, measuring 21 inches.
Congrats to the new family!
Amelia Heinle is a proud new mother.
Look for Jerome Preston Bates to take on a central role on All My Children throughout November.
And in what ways will this veteran actor contribute to the show?
Im involved in a main storyline with everybody Erica, Greenlee, Kendell, Aiden Im going to have a scene with everybody within the next couple of days, Bates said to Metro Spirit, a newpaper from his hometown of Augusta, GA.
Its the only featured black character that they have on the show. Its a good role, a role of integrity and authority. They havent put me into any slimy stuff yet.
The busy actor, who helped direct a series of plays in Georgia last month, is excited about his first soap opera gig. But he also acknowledges how hectic it can be.
Its good work and its a character-driven story. But it is a rather grueling schedule, Bates said.
We have no doubt it's one he's up for, however.
