Jason Gerhardt is a Family Man

Jason Gerhardt stars on General Hospital.

He also stars as a family man in real life, as a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest revealed:

Jason Gerhardt Photo Soap Opera Digest: So, congratulations on the impending birth of your son in December.
Jason Gerhardt: Thank you! Yes, we're having a boy. I'm so excited. [Wife] Chalae's feeling great, but she's so ready to get that baby out. She's practically jumping up and down trying to get him to come out!

Digest: Does your wife watch your love scenes?
Gerhardt: She doesn't like to, but I'm always open for her to do that because I'm not hiding anything from her. It's my job to go home and make sure she feels okay. She met Kirsten Storms (Maxie) and they get along great. Kirsten has a boyfriend, and she and I have talked about it. It is a little uncomfortable because it's one of those things that's only supposed to be between you and your significant other.

But we're very respectful and we have our boundaries. We make sure the other one is comfortable with it and I'm not going to do anything that she doesn't want me to do. And Chalae's seen that it's very technical when you're on set. It looks very different on camera.”

Digest: We hear you also just launched a fan club.
Gerhardt: Yes. The Official Jason Gerhardt Fan Club has just been launched. We're hoping it's not going to be your normal fan club. It's going to be very interactive with me. I'm going to be very available — and it's really charity-driven. Right now we're working with World Vision, which is an organization that helps children all around the world.

It's such a great cause. We're just a bunch of people getting together, trying to do some good and change the world around us.

Amelia Heinle Speaks on The Young and the Restless Disaster

Amelia Heinle recently talked to Soap Opera Digest about the Clear Springs disaster story line on The Young and the Restless.

Amelia Heinle, Thad LuckinbillAs her pregnant character was left comatose after the building collapse, Heinle - who was also with child during shooting, and it with husband Thad Luckinbill in this photo - spoke on filming those scenes...

Soap Opera Digest: The Clear Springs scenes turned out really well. They were suspenseful to watch.
Amelia Heinle: Thanks! I'm glad you think so. When I was filming, I wasn't sure how they'd do the explosive stuff on daytime. It took a long time to film those scenes.

Digest: I thought it was effective how they showed different characters' stories on different days.
Heinle: I hadn't realized they were going to do it like that. But then my mom wanted to see me and she was like, "Where are you? You haven't exploded yet." I was like, "I know I'm in there sometime."

Digest: Did you fall asleep during the coma scenes?
Heinle: It was hard not to. Would you believe that this was my first time ever being in a coma?

Digest: Really? But you've been on three soaps. [Heinle also played All My Children's Mia] How did you manage to avoid that particular soap convention?
Heinle: I don't know! It seems everyone on soaps is comatose at least once, right? It was kind of fun, though. I'd just lie there and relax while people cried over me. What wasn't to like [laughs]?

In the Soap Opera Spotlight: BethAnn Bonner

BethAnn Bonner parlayed a third place finish on I Wanna Be a Soap Opera Star 3 into a recurring role on One Life to Live.

Portraying Talia on the show, Bonner has become close friends with Bree Williamson and is thrilled to be living in New York, where she's been residing since October 2006.

"I'm so glad my character is from New York because I love it here. I love the people; I love the energy," the actress told Soap Opera Digest.

BethAnn Bonner

Here are a few more fun facts about the relatively new One Life to Live cast member:

  • Growing up, Bonner and her sisters, Megan and Kelly Ann, weren't allowed to watch television, so she hadn't seen a soap opera before her Soap Star audition. "I watched one episode of All My Children and I was like, 'Okay, let's do this.'"
  • Bonner studied musical theater at Emerson College in Boston, where she played two male roles in a production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
  • At age 5, Bonner sang "All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth" at the Orpheum Theater in Omaha, NE, thanks to her father, a retired Air Force Band director. As a teenager, she recorded an album, Born of Love, with two songwriters from her church.
  • Bonner has a serious passion for shoes. "I love going to the shoe department in Saks [Fifth Avenue]. It's so beautiful; it's like a museum."

Cameron Mathison Needs Your Help!

It wasn't the best night of dancing for Cameron Mathison; so now the All My Children star needs your help in order to last another week on Dancing with the Stars.

Go vote!

Cameron and Edyta's high-energy Quickstep seemed much more fast-paced than the other Quicksteps on the evening, which isn't really a good thing.

Carrie Ann asked if Cameron drank a Red Bull before the performance. She called the routine "wild" and "out of control." Len told the couple to calm down, while Bruno believed that Cameron forgot the steps during his rushed performance.

Score: 24 (8, 8, 8).

Dancing, Week Six

Later in the night, the couple's jive was much lighter and less intense in comparison. There were still plenty of fun elements, though. Cameron jumped over Edyta's shoulders at one point.

Len informed us that the Jive normally suits short, compact dancers, but that Cameron did a fantastic job. Bruno said that there were "more kicks than a rodeo" and loved Cameron's performance, too. Carrie Ann added that Cameron began the competition as the good-looking guy who could "kinda" move, but developed into a great dancer.

Score: 27 (9, 9, 9).

An Interview with Minae Noji

Minae Noji General Hospital star Minae Noji was recently asked about her character sex addiction story line on the show. Here was her response:

"I remember thinking it was very much a gift for the fact that they are even addressing it. I didn't know ... I knew it was special to me that it was a journey for me to go on my own. It's a tough topic to broach ... writing this story can be a little tricky.

It's incredible to hear from the viewers reactions to the story. FOR ME, I love playing roles that push me to be brave and open.

When the audience could feel the nakedness and vulnerability of the character and say,"Yes, I get it." It's really a beautiful thing when that happens...

The sex addict story was an interesting journey for me. I grew up around a lot of addiction so hit close to home."

Michael Easton Answers Fan Questions

Michael Easton PicOn his official website, Michael Easton recently answered a handful of questions from One Life to Live fans.

Here are a couple examples:

Q:First of all it's been a lot of fun watching you on One Life to Live these past years, and see your character of John evolve...thanks for keeping me watching. I'm curious to know how did you like being John the "mummy" for all those days as a burn victim, any humorous costume/makeup stories? You looked good in white... but I do prefer you in your black leather jacket too!
A: I literally fell asleep one day while they were filming.

Q: I read in a magazine article that you said you would like to do Dancing With The Stars but it would scare the hell out of you. All your fans know what a great actor and writer you are so how about showing us what kind of dancer you are. If you're gonna say you wouldn't be any good because you have two left feet I'm not buying it.
A: It would be a disaster. I’d be ruining another perfectly good show for people.
