Tammy Lauren Speaks on The Young and the Restless

Detective Maggie can hold her own on The Young and the Restless. However, portrayer Tammy Lauren enjoys showing her softer side.

Tammy Lauren "Women who act as tough as Maggie are probably more scared of things than others," Lauren said to Soap Opera Digest. "It's such a boys' club on any police force that the women I've seen in law enforcement have to be tougher than the average woman. It's a defense mechanism."

But what about after hours?

"When they're with the guys they're into, they get to show their girly side," Lauren said. That's why she likes Maggie with Paul. "She has her two sides and that makes it more fun to play. One side would be boring."

Overall, the honeymoon is over for Maggie and her PI: "It's going to get complicated, which is way cooler than straight romance. The whole relationship, it's been work that's kept them together. Now all this information comes out — like Heather!

"That was a bombshell: If my boyfriend told me he had a grown daughter that didn't know about him, I'd freak out," the actress said. "It would make me think twice about him. And Paul (Doug Davidson) still has a few more surprises he's getting ready to drop on Maggie."

Tammy, of course, wasn't even meant to still be on The Young and the Restless.

"When I joined the show, it was just for the Carmen Mesta murder mystery and then I'd be done," Lauren said. "Since then? There are so many damn criminals in Genoa City that it's kept me busy!"

General Hospital Writer Speaks on Bruce Weitz

weitz_wm_9288292591_150×200.jpgNow that Bruce Weitz is firmly aboard General Hospital, head writer Robert Guza, Jr. couldn't help but share his excitement with Soap Opera Digest:

"This has worked out extremely well," Guza said. "I had originally envisioned somebody who was much more physically imposing but when they told me that Bruce was out there, I was like, 'Oh, my God. You think he'd like to do it?' We brought him in, had a long talk with him and he is just unbelievable because the character he is playing is a certified whack job.

He is criminally and pathologically insane.

And what Bruce gives you is not only glimmers of a mobster who is ruthless and fearless, but you also get a sense of vulnerability because we're going to talk about what made the man this way. He will do anything. And the moment he walks on camera, you're almost cowering because, really, anything can happen."

Nathaniel Marston Charged with Assault

For Nathaniel Marston, it's more like one criminal life to live now.

The soap opera star was charged with felony assault, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a weapon and resisting arrest after allegedly attacking three men with a crate (breaking one guy's leg) in the early hours of Sunday morning in New York City's Hell's Kitchen neighborhood.

According to the New York Daily News, Marston flailed his arms and kicked at police officers as they tried to arrest him.

He later was taken to Bellevue, where he was labeled "emotionally disturbed" and then released. Police say that Marston appeared to be under the influence of narcotics (possibly cocaine) at the time of the melee.

Reportedly, the actor had been on edge all week, although no one knows what triggered this attack. Earlier in the week, he blew up on the One Life to Live set.

"He's got a split personality," a neighbor told the newspaper. "When I first met him, he seemed chill, but within about the last six months he's gone a little screwy."

In 1999, during his stint on As the World Turns, Marston was arrested for attacking/damaging an ATM. That's just odd.

Then, in 2003, he was killed off of One Life to Live — by some accounts, due to suspect work habits — but brought back as a different character following fan protest.

Son of Hunter Tylo Pronounced Dead

We're sad to report the passing of Hunter Tylo's son last night.

As reported by TMZ.com, Michael Tylo, Jr drowned and was pronounced dead at 11:55. Michael went by the nickname Mickey.

The police were initially called to the house at 10:18 p.m. to respond to a report of a deceased male in a pool. We'll have more on the investigation as it progresses.

"We are doing a toxicology report, but that is standard with all bodies that come to us," said coroner Michael Murphy. "That information won't be available for several weeks. With this already having a cause of death, like a medical condition, it appears pretty evident that this is reason for him falling in the pool."

This isn't the tragedy to strike the actress' children: Hunter's youngest daughter, Katya, was diagnosed with retinablastoma and has had her eye removed.

Our best wishes go out to the family of this star from The Bold and the Beautiful.
