A General Hospital Blog: Robin Scorpio

Forget how Kimberly McCullough feels about the direction of her character on General Hospital.

What about the character herself, Robin Scorpio? Here's the latest blog by Robin, courtesy of the soap opera's official website:

I’ve finally found someone to father my baby, and he couldn’t be more enthusiastic. Damien Spinelli is the perfect genetic match. He’s youthful, kind, compassionate, loyal, and a technical genius. In fact, he possesses all the ideal qualities that I’d like my child to inherit.

As soon as I proposed the idea to Spinelli, he jumped at the opportunity to participate. I’ve always wanted my baby’s father to be someone I trust and admire, and Spinelli is that guy. Now that the search is over, I can relax and focus on the next step.

Think Robin is headed in the right direction, fans? Let us know at the General Hospital forum.

Stephanie Rivero Speaks on Death of Michael Tylo

Michael Tylo and Stephanie RiveroWe have a follow-up to the tragic story involving the son of Hunter Tylo.

The day he died, Michael Tylo Jr. was in town to visit his girlfriend, Stephanie Rivero and take one last high school exam.

However, by 11:55 that night, Michael was pronounced dead after his fully clothed body was found in the backyard swimming pool. The cause of death? Accidental drowning following a seizure.

"The last time I heard his voice was Thursday [October 18] around 6 a.m.,” Rivero said to Us Weekly. "I was going to come over, but he told me he was tossing and turning all night. He couldn’t sleep, and when he doesn’t sleep, he gets seizures. I told him I’d call him in an hour. He said, ‘I love you.’ And I said, ‘I love you too."

Sadly, these two never saw each other. As she relayed to the magazine, Rivero remembers Michael’s sense of humor most of all.

“He was full of life and so funny. He didn’t even have to try. He just was.”

Mary Beth Evans and Stephen Nichols Answer Days of Our Lives Questions

Mary Beth Evans and Stephen Nichols often answer fan questions on the official Days of Our Lives website.

Below, they respond to a couple of inquiries related to the show and their characters:

Q: What are your favorite characteristics of Steve and Kayla?
Mary Beth: I like that Kayla stands up for what she believes in.
Stephen: Patch is an honorable guy. He always does what he says he's going to do. He's compassionate and he loves children...he tries to protect the little ones.

Mary Beth Evans and Stephen Nichols

Q: Do you have any say in the direction of the show?
Stephen: In terms of the writing and the storyline, no. We could probably throw ideas out there and tell them what we think, but we don't have much control over that. What we do have control over is what goes on on the set while we're doing the scenes, we can throw those in. There's a real collaboration, especially now that there are new people there. They are smart and listen to the actors.
Mary Beth: It's great now, too, because we actually get notes...GOOD notes...and it's great. We can always use improvement and tips to tweak it and make it better. It's just way more collaborative now and so much more fun!

Thorsten Kaye Continues to Advise Cameron Mathison

Thorsten Kaye, once again, has talked to Soap Opera Digest about the chances his co-star, Cameron Mathison, has on Dancing with the Stars...

A Dancing Fool What did you think of this week’s competition?
Kaye: This week was hard for me because Cameron didn’t call me for help. He called Susan Lucci (who gave advice to Cameron on air Monday night). I don’t want to make this about myself because, obviously, it’s his moment. But what shouldn’t get lost among all the spandex and sequins is that in the end, what you have is your friendships.

That’s something that’s understood in the dance world and it’s not something that Cameron understands being a non-dancer. I could understand calling Susan from an actor’s point of view. But from a dancer’s point of view... you know who you call. It was a little upsetting to me.

How was Cameron’s dancing this week?
Kaye: Let me tell you something. I watched him and I wanted to skinny dip in his eyes. That’s what one of the girls said in an interview a couple of weeks ago. “I just want to skinny dip in his eyes!” I’d probably wear a bathing suit just for protection.

What advice have you given him for next week?
Kaye: I’m going to be honest with you: I think maybe he should call Lucci. I’m an angry little gnome. If you need to choose the big star from the show to work with, then do it. I’m hurt right now. Maybe I shouldn’t be giving this interview to you in anger, but that’s where I live right now.

What’s your prediction for Cameron in the long run?
Kaye: I think he may win this thing, and that would be awesome. I really think he’s doing a great job. It looks like he’s having fun.

We agree! This All My Children star has a serious chance at victory.

Erika Slezak Talks About One Life to Live Return

Erika Slezak Picture Those in Llanview think Viki Davidson is in Paris.

And, of course, the One Life to Live character is in Paris. Just not the one in France.

As Emmy-winner Erika Slezak - who was last seen August 17 in an emotionally frazzled state, asking for a ticket on the first flight out of town - says she's been in Paris... Texas.

"And she's loving every minute of it," Slezak told TV Guide. "Her new family at the diner has no idea who she is, what she's running from or that she has money. She has none of the problems and responsibilities of home. I think the fans will enjoy this — doesn't everybody have that wish to get away from it all?"

Slezak, who has a stellar track record when it comes to romantic chemistry on One Life to Live, is getting a new love interest, as well: Brian Kerwin. He joins the cast tomorrow as Charlie, a blue-collar contractor and a regular at the diner.

Get to Know a Soap Opera Star: Ashley Jones

Ashley JonesWe already know that Ashley Jones loves Elliot Yamin.

But what else can we report about this star of The Bold and the Beautiful? We're so glad you asked...

  • Her husband, Noah, is the son of actor Craig T. Nelson.
  • She's friends with Olympic gold medalist, ice-skater Tara Lipinski, who played Megan's friend Marnie on The Young and the Restless in 1999.
  • She met Noah when she was only 15 and was filming the miniseries, The Fire Next Time, which starred his father.
  • She starred in The King's Guard, along with The Bold and the Beautiful co-star Lesley-Anne Down (Jackie) and Trevor St. John (Todd, One Life to Live).

Walt Willey Dishes on His First Encounter Thorsten Kaye

Walt Willey and Thorsten Kaye are good friends now, but the relationship started off a bit icier.

Walt WilleyBefore Kaye took on his All My Children role, Willey was the co-host of SOAPnet's Daytime Emmy Red Carpet coverage – and, at the time, he didn't appreciate Kaye's response when was asked about taking on the new gig.

“He said, ‘[I’m gonna be t]aking all your airtime.’ And we’re live and they’re not my first guests and I’m just … I will never forgive myself for not cutting him off at the knees right there,” Willey recounted. “Of course, it turned out to be true, which is even worse – he did take all my airtime, and a few other people’s.”

Willey can joke about it now, of course, because he has learned Kaye's sense of humor. But it's a funny way to begin what's grown into a tight friendship.
