Behind the Scenes of Super Cameron Mathison, Dancing with the Stars

Super Cameron! With his family and All My Children costar Rebecca Budig (and her husband, former Bachelor Bob Guiney) rooting him on, Cameron Mathison leapt and bounded his way to a 27 out of 30 last night.

“This was a bit of a breakout week for me,” Mathison told People magazine.

Of course, outting in such a stellar physical performance has its price: While rehearsing for the paso, Mathison injured his hip flexor.

“I heard a really loud snap,” Mathison said. “But in the performance I was able to kind of land it. We got it checked out earlier today, and it’s definitely not a tear. It’s a little tight and bruised, that’s all.”

Van Hansis Speaks on New Role

As the World Turns fans don't need to worry about Van Hansis ditching the show any time soon.

But the young actor will be taking on a role in the off-Broadway production of Die Mommie Die! later this month. He spoke to Soap Opera Weekly about the gig...

Van Hansis PhotoSoap Opera Weekly: What's your role in Die Mommie Die! like?
Van Hansis: Lance is a guy who may have fetal alcohol syndrome. He's not the brightest person in the universe and has rage and OCD and is kind of a big slut. The genre is very different, but it's like a soap opera. There's this family that's trying to kill each other; they're this rich family in L.A. who have all these dark secrets.

It's a raunchy comedy that takes place in 1968, so it's Old Hollywood versus the '60s revolution. It's fun. I honestly have no idea how to explain it. It's very out there and it's very campy.

Weekly: In other words, you're playing the polar opposite of Luke?
Hansis: Lance, my character, is a big hedonist; all he likes to do is have fun. Luke is always torturing himself about something.

Weekly: Luke's getting stronger, though, right?
Hansis: Yeah, I love playing Luke being strong, getting stronger. Luke's growing some b----, and it's about damn time, you know?

Weekly: Do you have to switch gears when you go from the show to the play?
Hansis: A little bit. It's a different vocabulary. We were blocking some scene and I was like, "Who will cue me on?" and they were like, "Nobody, you just have to listen." I'm so used to having somebody tell me when to enter a scene.

Weekly: People certainly want to see more of Luke and Noah.
Hansis: Honestly, I'm not going to say I'm surprised, because I'm not. If you tell a good story, good feedback will happen. The writing is really incredible. There's always these questions about whether the audience is ready for this [relationship] and yeah, I think they are. There's a big faction of people who have been waiting for this for years and years, and the story hasn't been told.

Now that it's finally being told people are tuning in. I get so much fan mail from people who are like, “I started watching As the World Turns because of Luke and Noah.”

Mary Beth Evans Dishes on I Wanna Be a Soap Star

With the season finale of I Wanna Be a Soap Star airing tonight, judge Mary Beth Evans couldn't help but be excited over the opportunity the winner will enjoy.

Mary Beth Evans Picture “Yes! The winner is getting thirteen weeks on Days of our Lives. Isn’t that wild?” the actress said. “I think actually that from previous years, there are winners that are still on (the respective shows).”

There sure are, as Soapdom.com reports.

Alec Musser, season 2 winner, who plays Del Henry on All My Children is still on AMC, however skimpy his appearances are of late.

“I know for me, when I started out, when I was auditioning, there were no other avenues,” said Evans. “There were no reality shows. There were no other ways to get in other than to simply audition. So this is really exciting. What’s very cool, too, is that they have this opportunity to show what they can do more and more. It’s not just one audition – it’s ten!

And that’s really great. Plus, they get to take notes from the people making decisions about it, which can only help (their growth as actors.) It’s been an interesting experience.”

Interesting, yes. But at first, Evan’s hesitated. For her, being a judge meant voting people off and she was not fond of that process.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Big Week Ahead

Coming up on The Young and the Restless - specifically on October 19 - the level of drama intensifies on TV's top-rated soap opera.

The long-running daytime drama delivers a week loaded with immense suspense and a few mind-blowing twists that will change some of the characters' lives forever.

Read on for more spoilers on The Young and the Restless.

out-of-the-ashes-1.jpgThe Clear Springs plot, which has become one of the central angles on The Young and the Restless, will reach its climax this Friday when a shocking tragedy strikes at the spa, resort and upscale shopping center that has been a source of contention between the Newmans and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).

Due to faulty construction, the building crumbles to the ground, trapping many friends and enemies, and threatening the lives of both families.

As the wounded are pulled out from the rubble, lives remain in peril and rivals are forced to unite and bystanders perform heroic measures.

The cast and crew of The Young and the Restless, including stunt professionals, have put in great efforts to make this tragedy realistic. In fact, the scene used a set with a bigger soundstage than usual, including more than 50 extras.

The exciting episode leads to an important question, of course?: Who survives the catastrophe?

Victims whose lives may or may not be on the line include Jack and Sharon (Sharon Case), along with her ex, Nick (Joshua Morrow), who are all trapped together.

Meanwhile, JT (Thad Luckin-bill) and Cane (Daniel Goddard) are caught underground with the elderly, while Lauren (Tracey Bregman), Paul (Doug Davidson) and Maggie (Tammy Lauren) await rescue as they tend to an injured child.

Here's a preview of that episode:
