The Young and the Restless Spoiler: A Messy Divorce to Come

The super couple on The Young and The Restless, Victor and Nikki, aren't gonna be together much longer.

The union will dissolve in a divorce on October 5 - and it won't be pretty.

Melody Thomas Scott and Eric Braeden "We start out trying to be decent to each other, but things don't turn out that way. It's really pretty brutal," says actress Melody Thomas Scott, now in her 28th year as Nikki. "At one point Eric Braeden [Victor] and I just threw out the script and went for it. We're both Aries, and when we get going in fight scenes, we'll kill each other unless someone yells 'Cut.'"

The marriage started going badly a few months back when ex-stripper Nikki made an unsuccessful run for the Wisconsin state senate. She then slept with her campaign manager, which sent control-freak Victor over the edge. Naturally.

However this isn't their first divorce, and it probably won't be the last.

"Let's face it, they're addicted to each other," Thomas Scott says. "Nikki is the only woman who can make Victor this angry.

Alison Sweeney Blogs About The Biggest Loser

Days of Our Lives star Alison Sweeney is the host of The Biggest Loser.

Here are parts of her blog about it, courtesy of the official NBC website...

Yikes! This was such a busy week!!! First the temptation started the week off with some major drama. After explaining to everyone that they would have to spend time alone in a room with all that food, with one person winning a 3 lb pass at the next weigh-in, they were also told there was no strategizing amongst teammates.

As people came out from the room, there was a lot of trash talk – some people saying they didn’t eat anything and others claiming the crew will have to restock the room before the next person goes.

Meanwhile, the contestants who hadn’t gone yet, weren’t supposed to be strategizing, they were only allowed to talk to me! Ha – so we talked about movies (one of my favorite go-to conversations), we quoted our favorite lines from movies, and Nicole told me that she was a long time Days fan. She asked me about the show, and what was happening right now.

I gave her a brief synopsis and soon everyone was in on it – even Ryan and Neil had questions about the show and how it works etc. It was really my first chance to sit and get to know everyone better.

In the Soap Opera Spotlight: Michelle Stafford

Michelle Stafford Think you know all there is to know about Michelle Stafford, the actress who portrays Phyllis on The Young and The Restless?

Think again.

Here are a few fun facts about the star:

  • In 2004, Stafford was the hockey correspondent for Best Dam Sports Show Period.
  • She is a big fan of the band Live.
  • Stafford won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1997, as well as one for Outstanding Lead Actress in 2004.

"It just comes out! It's like projectile communication [laughs]." — On her notoriously racy language during interviews, Soap Opera Digest, 8/22/00

"We love doing love scenes. It's fun. You get to make out with somebody. All the time. There are no ramifications. There's no, 'You didn't call me. How come you didn't call me?' You don't have to deal with that. And you're married." — In an interview with co-star Peter Bergman (Jack), Digest, 10/16/01

Guiding Light News: A Word from David Andrew Macdonald

Edmund's anticipated return to Guiding Light is set for October 24... but what kind of trouble will the former dark prince stir up this time?

David Andrew Macdonald Photo Soap Opera Digest got the insight from David Andrew Macdonald, who says he's psyched to be back on daytime for the month-long cameo that's certain to rattle cages all over town.

The actor says transforming himself into Edmund again wasn't hard.

"You do something for six-and-a-half years and you've really worked a lot of it out, so it becomes a bit of muscle memory," he said.

The feeling was mutual for the cast and crew of the show, who welcomed Macdonald back with open arms.

"It's been a lot of fun," Macdonald said. "I got there and the day had moved along really quickly, so they got to my [scenes] just before lunch and I'd spent so much of the morning saying hello to people and talking that, of course, I hadn't really gone back to look at my script [laughs]!"

Viewers can assuredly expect to see Edmund up to his old tricks — and even get a taste of what's been going on in San Cristobel.

"[Edmund's] down there and he runs into some people because they need things that he can do for them," Macdonald said. "But also there are some people who are there independently of that and, of course, he wreaks havoc on them as well."

Robin Strasser: Nelson Mandela is Great!

Robin Strasser has a broad view of the world. And an appreciation for history.

The One Life to Live actress was recently quoted as being a big fan of South African leader Nelson Mandela:

“I just consider the miracle of how a man who was put in prison for years by his adversaries assumed power and shifted from all-white leadership to embracing the black population and even having participation by whites and they didn’t shed any blood…. That was extraordinary!”
